2011-08-04font-util: The recipe produces binaries so don't mark as 'all' architectureRichard Purdie
Since font-util produces binaries it shouldn't be marked as "all" package architecture. To achieve this we need to move the settings out the common include file. 2011-07-25bitbake.conf/classes: Variable cleanupRichard Purdie
This patch removes the variables BASE_PACKAGE_ARCH, BASEPKG_HOST_SYS, BASEPKG_TARGET_SYS and also removes the immediate assignments in several core classes as these are no longer required. This should make it clearer what some of the core variables do and simplfy some overly complex and confusing class code. I've cleaned up some odd license fields, fixed some license names and corrected some incorrect licenses. LICENSE really needs a pass through by the maintainers as some of the licensing is incorrect. Also, every license with Artistic should be gone through and noted as which version of Artistic. Add more detailed SUMMARY and DESCRIPTIONS to various graphics and graphics related components. I've recently gotten question from users what something is, or why it was needed.. this should go a long way toward answering those questions. Many of the descriptions were taken directly from the upstream location, where one was not available the Debian packages were consulted for information. 2010-08-27Major layout change to the packages directoryRichard Purdie
Having one monolithic packages directory makes it hard to find things and is generally overwhelming. This commit splits it into several logical sections roughly based on function, recipes.txt gives more information about the classifications used. The opportunity is also used to switch from "packages" to "recipes" as used in OpenEmbedded as the term "packages" can be confusing to people and has many different meanings. Not all recipes have been classified yet, this is just a first pass at separating things out. Some packages are moved to meta-extras as they're no longer actively used or maintained.
