2017-10-07libparted: Use read only when probing devices on linuxOvidiu Panait
When a device is opened for RW closing it can trigger other actions, like udev scanning it for partition changes. Use read only for the init_* methods and RW for actual changes to the device. This adds _device_open which takes mode flags as an argument and turns linux_open into a wrapper for it with RW_MODE. _device_open_ro is added to open the device with RD_MODE and increment the open_counter. This is used in the init_* functions. _device_close is a wrapper around linux_close that decrements the open_counter and is used in the init_* functions. All of these changes are self-contained with no external API changes. The only visible change in behavior is that when a new PedDevice is created the device is opened in RO_MODE instead of RW_MODE. 2017-06-22meta: Drop remnants of uclibc supportRichard Purdie
uclibc support was removed a while ago and musl works much better. Start to remove the various overrides and patches related to uclibc which are no longer needed. uclibc support in a layer would still be possible. I have strong reasons to believe nobody is still using uclibc since patches are missing and I doubt the metadata even parses anymore. 2014-05-02Add texinfo.bbclass; recipes that use texinfo utils at build-time inherit it.Max Eliaser
The class itself currently does nothing. The idea is to mark all recipes that make use of the texinfo utilities. In the future, this class could be used to suppress the generation/formatting of documentation for performance, explicitly track dependencies on these utilities, and eliminate Yocto's current dependency on the host system's texinfo utilities. 2014-01-02Replace one-line DESCRIPTION with SUMMARYPaul Eggleton
A lot of our recipes had short one-line DESCRIPTION values and no SUMMARY value set. In this case it's much better to just set SUMMARY since DESCRIPTION is defaulted from SUMMARY anyway and then the SUMMARY is at least useful. I also took the opportunity to fix up a lot of the new SUMMARY values, making them concisely explain the function of the recipe / package where possible. 2013-02-28parted: fix several integer overflowsMing Liu
Integer overflows were found in libparted/labels/dvh.c, while attemptting to assign unsigned int values to int types in some places. These overflows only can be observed on BE platforms like MIPS, when the "WORDS_BIGENDIAN" macro is defined in parted. Defined by unsigned int instead.
