[ Upstream commit e71b7f1f44d3d88c677769c85ef0171caf9fc89f ]
The 'ping' utility is able to manage two kind of sockets (raw or icmp),
depending on the sysctl ping_group_range. By default, ping_group_range is
set to '1 0', which forces ping to use an ip raw socket.
Let's replay the ping tests by allowing 'ping' to use the ip icmp socket.
After the previous patch, ipv4 tests results are the same with both kinds
of socket. For ipv6, there are a lot a new failures (the previous patch
fixes only two cases).

operational
commit 3122257c02afd9f199a8fc84ae981e1fc4958532 upstream.
In emulated environments, the bridge ports enslaved to br1 get a carrier
before changing br1's PVID. This means that by the time the PVID is
changed, br1 is already operational and configured with an IPv6
link-local address.
When the test is run with netdevs registered by mlxsw, changing the PVID
is vetoed, as changing the VID associated with an existing L3 interface
is forbidden. This restriction is similar to the 8021q driver's
restriction of changing the VID of an existing interface.
Fix this by taking br1 down and bringing it back up when it is fully
configured.
With this fix, the test reliably passes on top of both the SW and HW
data paths (emulated or not).

[ Upstream commit b50d3b46f84282d795ae3076111acb75ae1031f3 ]
The purpose of the last test case is to test VXLAN encapsulation and
decapsulation when the underlay lookup takes place in a non-default VRF.
This is achieved by enslaving the physical device of the tunnel to a
VRF.
The binding of the VXLAN UDP socket to the VRF happens when the VXLAN
device itself is opened, not when its physical device is opened. This
was also mentioned in the cited commit ("tests that moving the underlay
from a VRF to another works when down/up the VXLAN interface"), but the
test did something else.
Fix it by reopening the VXLAN device instead of its physical device.

[ Upstream commit 18dfc667550fe9c032a6dcc3402b50e691e18029 ]
The cleanup() function takes care of killing processes launched by the

relevant PIDs. But tests are run in their own subshell, so updated

sees any process to kill:

Fix this by running cleanup() in the context of the test subshell.
Now that each test cleans the environment after completion, there's no
need for calling cleanup() again when the next test starts. So let's
drop it from the setup() function. This is okay because cleanup() is
also called when pmtu.sh starts, so even the first test starts in a
clean environment.
Also, use tcpdump's immediate mode. Otherwise it might not have time to
process buffered packets, resulting in missing packets or even empty
pcap files for short tests.
Note: PAUSE_ON_FAIL is still evaluated before cleanup(), so one can
still inspect the test environment upon failure when using -p.

commit f6071e5e3961eeb5300bd0901c9e128598730ae3 upstream.
Currently rp_filter tests in fib_tests.sh:fib_rp_filter_test() are
failing. ping sockets are bound to dummy1 using the "-I" option
(SO_BINDTODEVICE), but socket lookup is failing when receiving ping
replies, since the routing table thinks they belong to dummy0.
For example, suppose ping is using a SOCK_RAW socket for ICMP messages.
When receiving ping replies, in __raw_v4_lookup(), sk->sk_bound_dev_if
is 3 (dummy1), but dif (skb_rtable(skb)->rt_iif) says 2 (dummy0), so the
raw_sk_bound_dev_eq() check fails. Similar things happen in
ping_lookup() for SOCK_DGRAM sockets.
These tests used to pass due to a bug [1] in iputils, where "ping -I"
actually did not bind ICMP message sockets to device. The bug has been
fixed by iputils commit f455fee41c07 ("ping: also bind the ICMP socket
to the specific device") in 2016, which is why our rp_filter tests
started to fail. See [2] .
Fixing the tests while keeping everything in one netns turns out to be
nontrivial. Rework the tests and build the following topology:
┌─────────────────────────────┐ ┌─────────────────────────────┐
│ network namespace 1 (ns1) │ │ network namespace 2 (ns2) │
│ │ │ │
│ ┌────┐ ┌─────┐ │ │ ┌─────┐ ┌────┐ │
│ │ lo │<───>│veth1│<────────┼────┼─>│veth2│<──────────>│ lo │ │
│ └────┘ ├─────┴──────┐ │ │ ├─────┴──────┐ └────┘ │
│ │192.0.2.1/24│ │ │ │192.0.2.1/24│ │
│ └────────────┘ │ │ └────────────┘ │
└─────────────────────────────┘ └─────────────────────────────┘
Consider sending an ICMP_ECHO packet A in ns2. Both source and
destination IP addresses are 192.0.2.1, and we use strict mode rp_filter
in both ns1 and ns2:
1. A is routed to lo since its destination IP address is one of ns2's
local addresses (veth2);
2. A is redirected from lo's egress to veth2's egress using mirred;
3. A arrives at veth1's ingress in ns1;
4. A is redirected from veth1's ingress to lo's ingress, again, using
mirred;
5. In __fib_validate_source(), fib_info_nh_uses_dev() returns false,
since A was received on lo, but reverse path lookup says veth1;
6. However A is not dropped since we have relaxed this check for lo in
commit 66f8209547cc ("fib: relax source validation check for loopback
packets");
Making sure A is not dropped here in this corner case is the whole point
of having this test.
7. As A reaches the ICMP layer, an ICMP_ECHOREPLY packet, B, is
generated;
8. Similarly, B is redirected from lo's egress to veth1's egress (in
ns1), then redirected once again from veth2's ingress to lo's
ingress (in ns2), using mirred.
Also test "ping 127.0.0.1" from ns2. It does not trigger the relaxed
check in __fib_validate_source(), but just to make sure the topology
works with loopback addresses.
Tested with ping from iputils 20210722-41-gf9fb573:
$ ./fib_tests.sh -t rp_filter

[ Upstream commit b87b04f5019e821c8c6c7761f258402e43500a1f ]
Oliver reported a use case where deleting a VRF device can hang
waiting for the refcnt to drop to 0. The root cause is that the dst
is allocated against the VRF device but cached on the loopback
device.
The use case (added to the selftests) has an implicit VRF crossing
due to the ordering of the FIB rules (lookup local is before the
l3mdev rule, but the problem occurs even if the FIB rules are
re-ordered with local after l3mdev because the VRF table does not
have a default route to terminate the lookup). The end result is
is that the FIB lookup returns the loopback device as the nexthop,
but the ingress device is in a VRF. The mismatch causes the dst
alloc against the VRF device but then cached on the loopback.
The fix is to bring the trick used for IPv6 (see ip6_rt_get_dev_rcu):
pick the dst alloc device based the fib lookup result but with checks
that the result has a nexthop device (e.g., not an unreachable or
prohibit entry).

[ Upstream commit 1233898ab758cbcf5f6fea10b8dd16a0b2c24fab ]
The mirror_gre_scale test creates as many ERSPAN sessions as the underlying
chip supports, and tests that they all work. In order to determine that it
issues a stream of ICMP packets and checks if they are mirrored as
expected.
However, the mausezahn invocation missed the -6 flag to identify the use of
IPv6 protocol, and was sending ICMP messages over IPv6, as opposed to
ICMP6. It also didn't pass an explicit source IP address, which apparently
worked at some point in the past, but does not anymore.
To fix these issues, extend the function mirror_test() in mirror_lib by
detecting the IPv6 protocol addresses, and using a different ICMP scheme.
Fix __mirror_gre_test() in the selftest itself to pass a source IP address.

[ Upstream commit c8d0260cdd96fdccdef0509c4160e28a1012a5d7 ]
The FDB roaming test installs a destination MAC address on the wrong
interface of an FDB database and tests whether the mirroring fails, because
packets are sent to the wrong port. The test by mistake installs the FDB
entry as local. This worked previously, because drivers were notified of
local FDB entries in the same way as of static entries. However that has
been fixed in the commit 6ab4c3117aec ("net: bridge: don't notify switchdev
for local FDB addresses"), and local entries are not notified anymore. As a
result, the HW is not reconfigured for the FDB roam, and mirroring keeps
working, failing the test.
To fix the issue, mark the FDB entry as static.

commit edcbf5137f093b5502f5f6b97cce3cbadbde27aa upstream.
When mirroring to a gretap in hardware the device expects to be
programmed with the egress port and all the encapsulating headers. This
requires the driver to resolve the path the packet will take in the
software data path and program the device accordingly.
If the path cannot be resolved (in this case because of an unresolved
neighbor), then mirror installation fails until the path is resolved.
This results in a race that causes the test to sometimes fail.
Fix this by setting the neighbor's state to permanent, so that it is
always valid.

Adds new 2 new tests to the PTMU script: pmtu_ipv4/6_route_change.
These tests explicitly test for a recently discovered problem in the
IPv6 routing framework where PMTU exceptions were not properly released
when replacing a route via "ip route change ...".
After creating PMTU exceptions, the route from the device A to R1 will be
replaced with a new route, then device A will be deleted. If the PMTU
exceptions were properly cleaned up by the kernel, this device deletion
will succeed. Otherwise, the unregistration of the device will stall, and
messages such as the following will be logged in dmesg:

syscall with a timeout of 10ms. If a larger timeout is specified

Currently the poll() loop errors out after the first invocation with

Recently, CONFIG_MPTCP_IPV6 no longer selects CONFIG_IPV6. As a
consequence, if CONFIG_MPTCP_IPV6=y is added to the kconfig, it will no
longer ensure CONFIG_IPV6=y. If it is not enabled, CONFIG_MPTCP_IPV6
will stay disabled and selftests will fail.
We also need CONFIG_IPV6 to be built-in. For more details, please see

Note that 'make kselftest-merge' will take all 'config' files found in

The objective of the tests is to check that ICMP errors generated while
crossing between VRFs are properly routed back to the source host.
The first ttl test sends a ping with a ttl of 1 from h1 to h2 and parses the
output of the command to check that a ttl expired error is received.
The second ttl test runs traceroute from h1 to h2 and parses the output to
check for a hop on r1.
The mtu test sends a ping with a payload of 1450 from h1 to h2, through
r1 which has an interface with a mtu of 1400 and parses the output of the
command to check that a fragmentation needed error is received.

Provide an example script which can be used as a skeleton for offloading
TCAM rules in the Ocelot switches.
Not all actions are demoed, mostly because of difficulty to automate
this from a single board.
For example, policing. We can set up an iperf3 UDP server and client and
measure throughput at destination. But at least with DSA setups, network
namespacing the individual ports is not possible because all switch
ports are handled by the same DSA master. And we cannot assume that the
target platform (an embedded board) has 2 other non-switch generator
ports, we need to work with the generator ports as switch ports (this is
the reason why mausezahn is used, and not IP traffic like ping). When
somebody has an idea how to test policing, that can be added to this
test.
