The function mxs_saif_probe() is only called with an openfirmware platform device. Therefore there is no need to check that it has an openfirmware node. 2019-08-02ASoC: Remove dev_err() usage after platform_get_irq()Stephen Boyd
We don't need dev_err() messages when platform_get_irq() fails now that platform_get_irq() prints an error message itself when something goes wrong. Let's remove these prints with a simple semantic patch. // <smpl> @@ expression ret; struct platform_device *E; @@ ret = ( platform_get_irq(E, ...) | platform_get_irq_byname(E, ...) ); if ( \( ret < 0 \| ret <= 0 \) ) { ( -if (ret != -EPROBE_DEFER) -{ ... -dev_err(...); -... } | ... -dev_err(...); ) ... } // </smpl> While we're here, remove braces on if statements that only have one statement (manually). 2017-01-17ASoC: mxs-saif: fix setting master base rateJörg Krause
The SAIF base oversample rates are either 512*fs or 384*fs. An additional divider exists within the SAIF to generate sub-multiples of these two base rates if MCLK is required by the codec. * The sub-rates for the 512x base rate are: 256x, 128x, 64x, and 32x. * The sub-rates for the 384x base rate are: 192x, 96x, and 48x. Setting the base rate depending on the modulo operation with 32 and 48 give wrong results for some mclk. If mclk=18.432MHz both modulo operations results in 0. As testing the result with 32 is done first, a wrong base rate of 512*fs is set instead of the correct 384*fs. Fix this by setting the base rate depending on the calculated sub-rate. If SAIF0 is used in master and SAIF1 in slave mode setting the SAIF1 register in mxs_saif_set_dai_fmt() does not have any effect on the interface as the clk gate needs to be cleared before the register can be written. 2016-02-05ASoC: mxs-saif: check BUSY bit in hw_params() only if not mclk_in_useMans Rullgard
If something else, typically a codec, has enabled mclk, the BUSY bit may be set when hw_params() is called without this being an error. This check thus causes intermittent failures to configure the sound device when used in such a manner. Fix this by making the test conditional on !saif->mclk_in_use. 2016-01-27ASoC: mxs-saif: fix clk_prepare() without matching clk_unprepare()Mans Rullgard
The clk_prepare() call in hw_params() has no matching clk_unprepare(), leaving the clk with an ever-increasing prepare count. Moreover, hw_params() can be called multiple times which would again leave us with a runaway prepare count. Fix this by moving the clk_prepare() call to the startup() function and adding a shutdown() function with a matching clk_unprepare() as these operations are already correctly bracketed by soc-core. 2013-03-26ASoC: mxs: Embed the mxs_dma_data struct in the mxs_pcm_dma_params structLars-Peter Clausen
Currently the mxs_dma_data struct, which gets passed to the dmaengine driver, is allocated in the pcm driver's open callback. The mxs_dma_data struct has exactly one field which is initialized from the the same field in the mxs_pcm_dma_params struct. The mxs_pcm_dma_params struct gets passed to the pcm driver from the dai driver. Instead of taking this indirection embed the mxs_dma_data struct directly in the mxs_pcm_dma_params struct. This allows us to simplify the pcm driver quite a bit, since we don't have to care about memory managing the mxs_dma_data struct anymore. 2012-11-02ASoC: mxs-saif: Fix channel swap for 24-bit formatFabio Estevam
Playing 24-bit format file leads to channel swap on mx28 and the reason is that the current driver performs one write/read to/from the SAIF_DATA register to trigger the transfer. This approach works fine for S16_LE case because SAIF_DATA is a 32-bit register and thus is capable of storing the 16-bit left and right channels, but for the S24_LE case it can only store one channel, so in order to not lose the FIFO sync an extra read/write is needed. 2012-07-24ASoC: mxs-saif: fix clock prepare and enable unbalance issueDong Aisheng
Currently we directly call a clock_enable in trigger function without a clk_prepare as pair first. This will cause system hang immediately when run capture because the clock was not prepared(playback does not hang because the clock was prepared already by get_mclk before), a warning message in clock framework may cause a deadlock to reclaim clock lock (see: pl011_console_write). Here we prepare clock first in hw_param, then enable it in trigger function to guarantee the balance. git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/tiwai/sound Pull sound updates from Takashi Iwai: "This is the first big chunk for 3.5 merges of sound stuff. There are a few big changes in different areas. First off, the streaming logic of USB-audio endpoints has been largely rewritten for the better support of "implicit feedback". If anything about USB got broken, this change has to be checked. For HD-audio, the resume procedure was changed; instead of delaying the resume of the hardware until the first use, now waking up immediately at resume. This is for buggy BIOS. For ASoC, dynamic PCM support and the improved support for digital links between off-SoC devices are major framework changes. Some highlights are below: * HD-audio - Avoid accesses of invalid pin-control bits that may stall the codec - V-ref setup cleanups - Fix the races in power-saving code - Fix the races in codec cache hashes and connection lists - Split some common codes for BIOS auto-parser to hda_auto_parser.c - Changed the PM resume code to wake up immediately for buggy BIOS - Creative SoundCore3D support - Add Conexant CX20751/2/3/4 codec support * ASoC - Dynamic PCM support, allowing support for SoCs with internal routing through components with tight sequencing and formatting constraints within their internal paths or where there are multiple components connected with CPU managed DMA controllers inside the SoC. - Greatly improved support for direct digital links between off-SoC devices, providing a much simpler way of connecting things like digital basebands to CODECs. - Much more fine grained and robust locking, cleaning up some of the confusion that crept in with multi-component. - CPU support for nVidia Tegra 30 I2S and audio hub controllers and ST-Ericsson MSP I2S controolers - New CODEC drivers for Cirrus CS42L52, LAPIS Semiconductor ML26124, Texas Instruments LM49453. - Some regmap changes needed by the Tegra I2S driver. - mc13783 audio support. * Misc - Rewrite with module_pci_driver() - Xonar DGX support for snd-oxygen - Improvement of packet handling in snd-firewire driver - New USB-endpoint streaming logic - Enhanced M-audio FTU quirks and relevant cleanups - Increment the support of OSS devices to 256 - snd-aloop accuracy improvement There are a few more pending changes for 3.5, but they will be sent slightly later as partly depending on the changes of DRM." Fix up conflicts in regmap (due to duplicate patches, with some further updates then having already come in from the regmap tree).
