commit 412055398b9e67e07347a936fc4a6adddabe9cf4 upstream.
svcrdma expects that the payload falls precisely into the xdr_buf
page vector. This does not seem to be the case for
nfsd4_encode_readv().
This code is called only when fops->splice_read is missing or when
RQ_SPLICE_OK is clear, so it's not a noticeable problem in many
common cases.
Add new transport method: ->xpo_read_payload so that when a READ
payload does not fit exactly in rq_res's page vector, the XDR
encoder can inform the RPC transport exactly where that payload is,
without the payload's XDR pad.
That way, when a Write chunk is present, the transport knows what
byte range in the Reply message is supposed to be matched with the
chunk.
Note that the Linux NFS server implementation of NFS/RDMA can
currently handle only one Write chunk per RPC-over-RDMA message.
This simplifies the implementation of this fix.

commit 22cf8419f1319ff87ec759d0ebdff4cbafaee832 upstream.
The server is failing to apply the umask when creating new objects on
filesystems without ACL support.
To reproduce this, you need to use NFSv4.2 and a client and server
recent enough to support umask, and you need to export a filesystem that
lacks ACL support (for example, ext4 with the "noacl" mount option).
Filesystems with ACL support are expected to take care of the umask
themselves (usually by calling posix_acl_create).
For filesystems without ACL support, this is up to the caller of
vfs_create(), vfs_mknod(), or vfs_mkdir().

than trying to fix it by removing a cache entry.

commit a4abc6b12eb1f7a533c2e7484cfa555454ff0977 upstream.
nfsd4_process_cb_update() invokes svc_xprt_get(), which increases the
refcount of the "c->cn_xprt".
The reference counting issue happens in one exception handling path of
nfsd4_process_cb_update(). When setup callback client failed, the
function forgets to decrease the refcnt increased by svc_xprt_get(),
causing a refcnt leak.
Fix this issue by calling svc_xprt_put() when setup callback client
failed.

commit e1e8399eee72e9d5246d4d1bcacd793debe34dd3 upstream.

commit 6221f1d9b63fed6260273e59a2b89ab30537a811 upstream.
Currently, after the forward channel connection goes away,
backchannel operations are causing soft lockups on the server
because call_transmit_status's SOFTCONN logic ignores ENOTCONN.
Such backchannel Calls are aggressively retried until the client
reconnects.
Backchannel Calls should use RPC_TASK_NOCONNECT rather than
RPC_TASK_SOFTCONN. If there is no forward connection, the server is
not capable of establishing a connection back to the client, thus
that backchannel request should fail before the server attempts to
send it. Commit 58255a4e3ce5 ("NFSD: NFSv4 callback client should
use RPC_TASK_SOFTCONN") was merged several years before
RPC_TASK_NOCONNECT was available.
Because setup_callback_client() explicitly sets NOPING, the NFSv4.0
callback connection depends on the first callback RPC to initiate
a connection to the client. Thus NFSv4.0 needs to continue to use
RPC_TASK_SOFTCONN.

commit 9594497f2c78993cb66b696122f7c65528ace985 upstream.
The nfsd4_blocked_lock->nbl_time timestamp is recorded in jiffies,
but then compared to a CLOCK_REALTIME timestamp later on, which makes
no sense.
For consistency with the other timestamps, change this to use a time_t.
This is a change in behavior, which may cause regressions, but the
current code is not sensible. On a system with CONFIG_HZ=1000,
the 'time_after((unsigned long)nbl->nbl_time, (unsigned long)cutoff))'
check is false for roughly the first 18 days of uptime and then true
for the next 49 days.

commit 2561c92b12f4f4e386d453556685f75775c0938b upstream.
The nfsd4_cb_layout_done() function takes a 'time_t' value,
multiplied by NSEC_PER_SEC*2 to get a nanosecond value.
This works fine on 64-bit architectures, but on 32-bit, any
value over 1 second results in a signed integer overflow
with unexpected results.
Cast one input to a 64-bit type in order to produce the
same result that we have on 64-bit architectures, regarless
of the type of nfsd4_lease.

commit 38a2204f5298620e8a1c3b1dc7b831425106dbc0 upstream.
The legacy client tracking infrastructure of nfsd makes use of MD5 to
derive a client's recovery directory name. As the nfsd module doesn't
declare any dependency on CRYPTO_MD5, though, it may fail to allocate
the hash if the kernel was compiled without it. As a result, generation
of client recovery directories will fail with the following error:
NFSD: unable to generate recoverydir name
The explicit dependency on CRYPTO_MD5 was removed as redundant back in
6aaa67b5f3b9 (NFSD: Remove redundant "select" clauses in fs/Kconfig
2008-02-11) as it was already implicitly selected via RPCSEC_GSS_KRB5.
This broke when RPCSEC_GSS_KRB5 was made optional for NFSv4 in commit
df486a25900f (NFS: Fix the selection of security flavours in Kconfig) at
a later point.

commit 6e73e92b155c868ff7fce9d108839668caf1d9be upstream.
When running an nfs stress test, I see quite a few cached replies that
don't match up with the actual request. The first comment in
replay_matches_cache() makes sense, but the code doesn't seem to
match... fix it.
This isn't exactly a bugfix, as the server isn't required to catch every
case of a false retry. So, we may as well do this, but if this is
fixing a problem then that suggests there's a client bug.

commit a25e3726b32c746c0098125d4c7463bb84df72bb upstream.
The NFSv4.2 CLONE operation has implicit persistence requirements on the
target file, since there is no protocol requirement that the client issue
a separate operation to persist data.
For that reason, we should call vfs_fsync_range() on the destination file
after a successful call to vfs_clone_file_range().

Since commit 10a68cdf10 (nfsd: fix performance-limiting session
calculation) (Linux 5.1-rc1 and 4.19.31), shares from NFS servers with
1 TB of memory cannot be mounted anymore. The mount just hangs on the
client.
The gist of commit 10a68cdf10 is the change below.
-avail = clamp_t(int, avail, slotsize, avail/3);
+avail = clamp_t(int, avail, slotsize, total_avail/3);
Here are the macros.
#define min_t(type, x, y) __careful_cmp((type)(x), (type)(y), <)
#define clamp_t(type, val, lo, hi) min_t(type, max_t(type, val, lo), hi)
`total_avail` is 8,434,659,328 on the 1 TB machine. `clamp_t()` casts
the values to `int`, which for 32-bit integers can only hold values
−2,147,483,648 (−2^31) through 2,147,483,647 (2^31 − 1).
`avail` (in the function signature) is just 65536, so that no overflow
was happening. Before the commit the assignment would result in 21845,
and `num = 4`.
When using `total_avail`, it is causing the assignment to be
18446744072226137429 (printed as %lu), and `num` is then 4164608182.
My next guess is, that `nfsd_drc_mem_used` is then exceeded, and the
server thinks there is no memory available any more for this client.
Updating the arguments of `clamp_t()` and `min_t()` to `unsigned long`
fixes the issue.
Now, `avail = 65536` (before commit 10a68cdf10 `avail = 21845`), but
`num = 4` remains the same.

Scott Mayhew revived an old api that communicates with a userspace

Instead of having the convention where individual nfsd4_callback_ops->done
operations return -1 to indicate the callback path is down, move the check
to nfsd4_cb_done. Only mark the callback path down on transport-level
errors, not NFS-level errors.
The existing logic causes the server to set SEQ4_STATUS_CB_PATH_DOWN
just because the client returned an error to a CB_RECALL for a
delegation that the client had already done a FREE_STATEID for. But
clearly that error doesn't mean that there's anything wrong with the
backchannel.
Additionally, handle NFS4ERR_DELAY in nfsd4_cb_recall_done. The client

The RPC_TASK_KILLED flag should really not be set from another context
because it can clobber data in the struct task when task->tk_flags is
changed non-atomically.
Let's therefore swap out RPC_TASK_KILLED with an atomic flag, and add
a function to set that flag and safely wake up the task.

The flags field in 'struct shash_desc' never actually does anything.
The only ostensibly supported flag is CRYPTO_TFM_REQ_MAY_SLEEP.
However, no shash algorithm ever sleeps, making this flag a no-op.
With this being the case, inevitably some users who can't sleep wrongly
pass MAY_SLEEP. These would all need to be fixed if any shash algorithm
actually started sleeping. For example, the shash_ahash_*() functions,
which wrap a shash algorithm with the ahash API, pass through MAY_SLEEP
from the ahash API to the shash API. However, the shash functions are
called under kmap_atomic(), so actually they're assumed to never sleep.
Even if it turns out that some users do need preemption points while
hashing large buffers, we could easily provide a helper function
crypto_shash_update_large() which divides the data into smaller chunks
and calls crypto_shash_update() and cond_resched() for each chunk. It's
not necessary to have a flag in 'struct shash_desc', nor is it necessary
to make individual shash algorithms aware of this at all.
Therefore, remove shash_desc::flags, and document that the
crypto_shash_*() functions can be called from any context.

A fuzzer recently triggered lockdep warnings about potential sb_writers
deadlocks caused by fh_want_write().
Looks like we aren't careful to pair each fh_want_write() with an
fh_drop_write().
It's not normally a problem since fh_put() will call fh_drop_write() for
us. And was OK for NFSv3 where we'd do one operation that might call
fh_want_write(), and then put the filehandle.
But an NFSv4 protocol fuzzer can do weird things like call unlink twice
in a compound, and then we get into trouble.
I'm a little worried about this approach of just leaving everything to
fh_put(). But I think there are probably a lot of
fh_want_write()/fh_drop_write() imbalances so for now I think we need it
to be more forgiving.

The new nfsdcld will do a one-time "upgrade" where it searches for
records from nfsdcltrack and the legacy tracking during startup.
Legacy records will be prefixed with the string "hash:", which we need
to strip off before adding to the reclaim_str_hashtbl. When legacy
records are encountered, set the new cn_has_legacy flag in the cld_net.
When this flag is set, if the search for a reclaim record based on the
client name string fails, then do a second search based on the hash of
the name string.
Note that if there are legacy records then the grace period will not
be lifted early via the tracking of RECLAIM_COMPLETEs.

When nfsdcld was released, it was quickly deprecated in favor of the
nfsdcltrack usermodehelper, so as to not require another running daemon.
That prevents NFSv4 clients from reclaiming locks from nfsd's running in
containers, since neither nfsdcltrack nor the legacy client tracking
code work in containers.
This commit un-deprecates the use of nfsdcld, with one twist: we will
populate the reclaim_str_hashtbl on startup.
During client tracking initialization, do an upcall ("GraceStart") to
nfsdcld to get a list of clients from the database. nfsdcld will do
one downcall with a status of -EINPROGRESS for each client record in
the database, which in turn will cause an nfs4_client_reclaim to be
added to the reclaim_str_hashtbl. When complete, nfsdcld will do a
final downcall with a status of 0.
This will save nfsd from having to do an upcall to the daemon during
nfs4_check_open_reclaim() processing.
Even though nfsdcld was quickly deprecated, there is a very small chance
of old nfsdcld daemons running in the wild. These will respond to the
new "GraceStart" upcall with -EOPNOTSUPP, in which case we will log a
message and fall back to the original nfsdcld tracking ops (now called
nfsd4_cld_tracking_ops_v0).

When a blocked NFS lock is "awoken" we send a callback to the server and
then wake any hosts waiting on it. If a client attempts to get a lock
and then drops off the net, we could end up waiting for a long time
until we end up waking locks blocked on that request.
So, wake any other waiting lock requests before sending the callback.
Do this by calling locks_delete_block in a new "prepare" phase for
CB_NOTIFY_LOCK callbacks.

After a blocked nfsd file_lock request is deleted, knfsd will send a
callback to the client and then free the request. Commit 16306a61d3b7
("fs/locks: always delete_block after waiting.") changed it such that
locks_delete_block is always called on a request after it is awoken,
but that patch missed fixing up blocked nfsd request handling.
Call locks_delete_block on the block to wake up any locks still blocked
on the nfsd lock request before freeing it. Some of its callers already
do this however, so just remove those calls.

If there are multiple callbacks queued, waiting for the callback
slot when the callback gets shut down, then they all currently
end up acting as if they hold the slot, and call
nfsd4_cb_sequence_done() resulting in interesting side-effects.
In addition, the 'retry_nowait' path in nfsd4_cb_sequence_done()
causes a loop back to nfsd4_cb_prepare() without first freeing the
slot, which causes a deadlock when nfsd41_cb_get_slot() gets called
a second time.
This patch therefore adds a boolean to track whether or not the
callback did pick up the slot, so that it can do the right thing
in these 2 cases.

After this commit
f875a79 nfsd: allow nfsv3 readdir request to be larger.
nfsv3 readdir request size can be larger than PAGE_SIZE. So if the
directory been read is large enough, we can use multiple pages
in rq_respages. Update buffer count and page pointers like we do
in readdirplus to make this happen.
Now listing a directory within 3000 files will panic because we
are counting in a wrong way and would write on random page.

nfsd currently reports the NFSv3 dtpref FSINFO parameter
to be PAGE_SIZE, so NFS clients will typically ask for one
page of directory entries at a time. This is needlessly restrictive
as nfsd can handle larger replies easily.
Also, a READDIR request (but not a READDIRPLUS request) has the count
size clipped to PAGE_SIE, again unnecessary.
This patch lifts these limits so that larger readdir requests can be
used.
