2020-06-01fbmem: Adjust indentation in fb_prepare_logo and fb_blankNathan Chancellor
commit 93166f5f2e4dc593cff8ca77ef828ac6f148b0f3 upstream. Clang warns: ../drivers/video/fbdev/core/fbmem.c:665:3: warning: misleading indentation; statement is not part of the previous 'else' [-Wmisleading-indentation] if (fb_logo.depth > 4 && depth > 4) { ^ ../drivers/video/fbdev/core/fbmem.c:661:2: note: previous statement is here else ^ ../drivers/video/fbdev/core/fbmem.c:1075:3: warning: misleading indentation; statement is not part of the previous 'if' [-Wmisleading-indentation] return ret; ^ ../drivers/video/fbdev/core/fbmem.c:1072:2: note: previous statement is here if (!ret) ^ 2 warnings generated. This warning occurs because there are spaces before the tabs on these lines. Normalize the indentation in these functions so that it is consistent with the Linux kernel coding style and clang no longer warns. 2020-06-01fbdev: potential information leak in do_fb_ioctl()Dan Carpenter
commit d3d19d6fc5736a798b118971935ce274f7deaa82 upstream. The "fix" struct has a 2 byte hole after ->ywrapstep and the "fix = info->fix;" assignment doesn't necessarily clear it. It depends on the compiler. The solution is just to replace the assignment with an memcpy(). commit 3c911fe799d1c338d94b78e7182ad452c37af897 upstream. In the probe function, some resources are allocated using 'dma_alloc_wc()', they should be released with 'dma_free_wc()', not 'dma_free_coherent()'. We already use 'dma_free_wc()' in the remove function, but not in the error handling path of the probe function. Also, remove a useless 'PAGE_ALIGN()'. 'info->fix.smem_len' is already PAGE_ALIGNed. commit b330f3972f4f2a829d41fb9e9b552bec7d73a840 upstream. When the compiler decides not to inline the Chunky-to-Planar core functions, the build fails with: c2p_planar.c:(.text+0xd6): undefined reference to `c2p_unsupported' c2p_planar.c:(.text+0x1dc): undefined reference to `c2p_unsupported' c2p_iplan2.c:(.text+0xc4): undefined reference to `c2p_unsupported' c2p_iplan2.c:(.text+0x150): undefined reference to `c2p_unsupported' Fix this by marking the functions __always_inline. 2019-10-05efifb: BGRT: Improve efifb_bgrt_sanity_checkHans de Goede
commit 51677dfcc17f88ed754143df670ff064eae67f84 upstream. For various reasons, at least with x86 EFI firmwares, the xoffset and yoffset in the BGRT info are not always reliable. Extensive testing has shown that when the info is correct, the BGRT image is always exactly centered horizontally (the yoffset variable is more variable and not always predictable). This commit simplifies / improves the bgrt_sanity_check to simply check that the BGRT image is exactly centered horizontally and skips (re)drawing it when it is not. This fixes the BGRT image sometimes being drawn in the wrong place. git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/gregkh/driver-core Pull yet more SPDX updates from Greg KH: "Here is another set of reviewed patches that adds SPDX tags to different kernel files, based on a set of rules that are being used to parse the comments to try to determine that the license of the file is "GPL-2.0-or-later" or "GPL-2.0-only". Only the "obvious" versions of these matches are included here, a number of "non-obvious" variants of text have been found but those have been postponed for later review and analysis. There is also a patch in here to add the proper SPDX header to a bunch of Kbuild files that we have missed in the past due to new files being added and forgetting that Kbuild uses two different file names for Makefiles. This issue was reported by the Kbuild maintainer. These patches have been out for review on the linux-spdx@vger mailing list, and while they were created by automatic tools, they were hand-verified by a bunch of different people, all whom names are on the patches are reviewers" * tag 'spdx-5.2-rc3-1' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/gregkh/driver-core: (82 commits) treewide: Add SPDX license identifier - Kbuild treewide: Replace GPLv2 boilerplate/reference with SPDX - rule 225 treewide: Replace GPLv2 boilerplate/reference with SPDX - rule 224 treewide: Replace GPLv2 boilerplate/reference with SPDX - rule 223 treewide: Replace GPLv2 boilerplate/reference with SPDX - rule 222 treewide: Replace GPLv2 boilerplate/reference with SPDX - rule 221 treewide: Replace GPLv2 boilerplate/reference with SPDX - rule 220 treewide: Replace GPLv2 boilerplate/reference with SPDX - rule 218 treewide: Replace GPLv2 boilerplate/reference with SPDX - rule 217 treewide: Replace GPLv2 boilerplate/reference with SPDX - rule 216 treewide: Replace GPLv2 boilerplate/reference with SPDX - rule 215 treewide: Replace GPLv2 boilerplate/reference with SPDX - rule 214 treewide: Replace GPLv2 boilerplate/reference with SPDX - rule 213 treewide: Replace GPLv2 boilerplate/reference with SPDX - rule 211 treewide: Replace GPLv2 boilerplate/reference with SPDX - rule 210 treewide: Replace GPLv2 boilerplate/reference with SPDX - rule 209 treewide: Replace GPLv2 boilerplate/reference with SPDX - rule 207 treewide: Replace GPLv2 boilerplate/reference with SPDX - rule 206 treewide: Replace GPLv2 boilerplate/reference with SPDX - rule 203 treewide: Replace GPLv2 boilerplate/reference with SPDX - rule 201 ...

2019-05-17fbdev/efifb: Ignore framebuffer memmap entries that lack any memory typesArd Biesheuvel
The following commit: 38ac0287b7f4 ("fbdev/efifb: Honour UEFI memory map attributes when mapping the FB") updated the EFI framebuffer code to use memory mappings for the linear framebuffer that are permitted by the memory attributes described by the EFI memory map for the particular region, if the framebuffer happens to be covered by the EFI memory map (which is typically only the case for framebuffers in shared memory). This is required since non-x86 systems may require cacheable attributes for memory mappings that are shared with other masters (such as GPUs), and this information cannot be described by the Graphics Output Protocol (GOP) EFI protocol itself, and so we rely on the EFI memory map for this. As reported by James, this breaks some x86 systems: [ 1.173368] efifb: probing for efifb [ 1.173386] efifb: abort, cannot remap video memory 0x1d5000 @ 0xcf800000 [ 1.173395] Trying to free nonexistent resource <00000000cf800000-00000000cf9d4bff> [ 1.173413] efi-framebuffer: probe of efi-framebuffer.0 failed with error -5 The problem turns out to be that the memory map entry that describes the framebuffer has no memory attributes listed at all, and so we end up with a mem_flags value of 0x0. So work around this by ensuring that the memory map entry's attribute field has a sane value before using it to mask the set of usable attributes.
