2018-02-28console: Drop added "static" for newport_conKees Cook
Commit 4fe505119778 ("console: Expand dummy functions for CFI") accidentally added "static" to newport_con instance of struct consw, while trying to normalize the declarations. This, however, needed to stay non-static as it has an extern. 2018-02-27console: Expand dummy functions for CFIKees Cook
This expands the no-op dummy functions into full prototypes to avoid indirect call mismatches when running under Control Flow Integrity checking, like with Clang's -fsanitize=cfi. 2016-12-24Replace <asm/uaccess.h> with <linux/uaccess.h> globallyLinus Torvalds
This was entirely automated, using the script by Al: PATT='^[[:blank:]]*#[[:blank:]]*include[[:blank:]]*<asm/uaccess.h>' sed -i -e "s!$PATT!#include <linux/uaccess.h>!" \ $(git grep -l "$PATT"|grep -v ^include/linux/uaccess.h) to do the replacement at the end of the merge window. 2016-10-27tty: vt, cleanup and document con_scrollJiri Slaby
Scrolling helpers scrup and scrdown both accept 'top' and 'bottom' as unsigned int. Number of lines 'nr' is accepted as int, but all callers pass down unsigned too. So change the type of 'nr' to unsigned too. Now, promote unsigned int from the helpers up to the con_scroll hook which actually accepted all those as signed int. Next, the 'dir' parameter can have only two values and we define constants for that: SM_UP and SM_DOWN. Switch them to enum and do proper type checking on 'dir' too. Finally, document the behaviour of the hook. Signed-off-by: Jiri Slaby <jslaby@suse.cz> Cc: Thomas Winischhofer <thomas@winischhofer.net> Cc: Tomi Valkeinen <tomi.valkeinen@ti.com> Cc: "James E.J. 2006-07-10[PATCH] vt: Remove VT-specific declarations and definitions from tty.hJon Smirl
MAX_NR_CONSOLES, fg_console, want_console and last_console are more of a function of the VT layer than the TTY one. Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
