2013-11-13backlight: ep93xx: use devm_backlight_device_register()Jingoo Han
Use devm_backlight_device_register() to make cleanup paths simpler, and remove unnecessary remove(). Signed-off-by: Jingoo Han <jg1.han@samsung.com> Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@linux-foundation.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@linux-foundation.org>
2013-07-03backlight: ep93xx: remove unnecessary platform_set_drvdata()Jingoo Han
The driver core clears the driver data to NULL after device_release or on probe failure, since commit 0998d063100 ("device-core: Ensure drvdata = NULL when no driver is bound"). Thus, it is not needed to manually clear the device driver data to NULL. 2013-04-29backlight: ep93xx: convert ep93xx to dev_pm_opsJingoo Han
Instead of using legacy suspend/resume methods, using newer dev_pm_ops structure allows better control over power management. Signed-off-by: Jingoo Han <jg1.han@samsung.com> Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@linux-foundation.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@linux-foundation.org>
2013-04-29drivers/video/backlight/ep93xx_bl.c: remove incorrect __init annotationJingoo Han
When platform_driver_probe() is not used, bind/unbind via sysfs is enabled. Thus, __init/__exit annotations should be removed from probe()/remove(). 2012-11-28backlight: remove use of __devexit_pBill Pemberton
CONFIG_HOTPLUG is going away as an option so __devexit_p is no longer needed. 2012-03-14ep93xx: Use ioremap for backlight driverRyan Mallon
The ep93xx backlight driver uses a single register within the framebuffer's register space. Currently the backlight driver uses a static IO mapping for the register since the memory cannot be requested by both drivers. Convert the static mapping to use ioremap so that we can remove the dependency on mach/hardware.h. To do so, we need remove the request_mem_region from both the backlight and framebuffer drivers, since whichever driver is loaded second will fail with -EBUSY otherwise. A proper fix is still required, and a FIXME comment has been added to both drivers. 2012-01-10backlight: convert drivers/video/backlight/* to use module_platform_driver()Axel Lin
Convert the drivers in drivers/video/backlight/* to use the module_platform_driver() macro which makes the code smaller and a bit simpler. 2011-10-31video: Add module.h to drivers/video files who really use it.Paul Gortmaker
They were getting this implicitly by an include of module.h from device.h -- but we are going to clean that up and break that include chain, so include module.h explicitly now. [ with contributions from Axel Lin <axel.lin@gmail.com> ] Signed-off-by: Paul Gortmaker <paul.gortmaker@windriver.com>
2011-08-25drivers/video/backlight/ep93xx_bl.c: add missing include of linux/module.hAxel Lin
ep93xx_bl.c uses interfaces from linux/module.h, so it should include that file. This patch fixes build errors: CC [M] drivers/video/backlight/ep93xx_bl.o drivers/video/backlight/ep93xx_bl.c:138: error: 'THIS_MODULE' undeclared here (not in a function) drivers/video/backlight/ep93xx_bl.c:158: error: expected declaration specifiers or '...' before string constant drivers/video/backlight/ep93xx_bl.c:158: warning: data definition has no type or storage class ... 2011-03-22backlight: add backlight typeMatthew Garrett
There may be multiple ways of controlling the backlight on a given machine. Allow drivers to expose the type of interface they are providing, making it possible for userspace to make appropriate policy decisions. 2010-05-26backlight: Add Cirrus EP93xx backlight driverH Hartley Sweeten
