2023-08-30scsi: snic: Fix double free in snic_tgt_create()Zhu Wang
commit 1bd3a76880b2bce017987cf53780b372cf59528e upstream. Commit 41320b18a0e0 ("scsi: snic: Fix possible memory leak if device_add() fails") fixed the memory leak caused by dev_set_name() when device_add() failed. However, it did not consider that 'tgt' has already been released when put_device(&tgt->dev) is called. Remove kfree(tgt) in the error path to avoid double free of 'tgt' and move put_device(&tgt->dev) after the removed kfree(tgt) to avoid a use-after-free. 2023-08-16scsi: snic: Fix possible memory leak if device_add() failsZhu Wang
commit 41320b18a0e0dfb236dba4edb9be12dba1878156 upstream. If device_add() returns error, the name allocated by dev_set_name() needs be freed. As the comment of device_add() says, put_device() should be used to give up the reference in the error path. So fix this by calling put_device(), then the name can be freed in kobject_cleanp(). 2023-01-18scsi: snic: Fix possible UAF in snic_tgt_create()Gaosheng Cui
[ Upstream commit e118df492320176af94deec000ae034cc92be754 ] Smatch reports a warning as follows: drivers/scsi/snic/snic_disc.c:307 snic_tgt_create() warn: '&tgt->list' not removed from list If device_add() fails in snic_tgt_create(), tgt will be freed, but tgt->list will not be removed from snic->disc.tgt_list, then list traversal may cause UAF. 2016-04-11scsi: disable automatic target scanHannes Reinecke
On larger installations it is useful to disable automatic LUN scanning, and only add the required LUNs via udev rules. This can speed up bootup dramatically. This patch introduces a new scan module parameter value 'manual', which works like 'none', but can be overridden by setting the 'rescan' value from scsi_scan_target to 'SCSI_SCAN_MANUAL'. And it updates all relevant callers to set the 'rescan' value to 'SCSI_SCAN_MANUAL' if invoked via the 'scan' option in sysfs. Signed-off-by: Hannes Reinecke <hare@suse.de> Reviewed-by: Ewan D. 2015-06-19snic: driver for Cisco SCSI HBANarsimhulu Musini
Cisco has developed a new PCI HBA interface called sNIC, which stands for SCSI NIC. This is a new storage feature supported on specialized network adapter. The new PCI function provides a uniform host interface and abstracts backend storage.
