2023-09-23scsi: qedi: Fix potential deadlock on &qedi_percpu->p_work_lockChengfeng Ye
[ Upstream commit dd64f80587190265ca8a0f4be6c64c2fda6d3ac2 ] As &qedi_percpu->p_work_lock is acquired by hard IRQ qedi_msix_handler(), other acquisitions of the same lock under process context should disable IRQ, otherwise deadlock could happen if the IRQ preempts the execution while the lock is held in process context on the same CPU. qedi_cpu_offline() is one such function which acquires the lock in process context. [Deadlock Scenario] qedi_cpu_offline() ->spin_lock(&p->p_work_lock) <irq> ->qedi_msix_handler() ->edi_process_completions() ->spin_lock_irqsave(&p->p_work_lock, flags); (deadlock here) This flaw was found by an experimental static analysis tool I am developing for IRQ-related deadlocks. The tentative patch fix the potential deadlock by spin_lock_irqsave() under process context. 2021-09-22scsi: qedi: Fix error codes in qedi_alloc_global_queues()Dan Carpenter
[ Upstream commit 4dbe57d46d54a847875fa33e7d05877bb341585e ] This function had some left over code that returned 1 on error instead negative error codes. Convert everything to use negative error codes. The caller treats all non-zero returns the same so this does not affect run time. A couple places set "rc" instead of "status" so those error paths ended up returning success by mistake. Get rid of the "rc" variable and use "status" everywhere. Remove the bogus "status = 0" initialization, as a future proofing measure so the compiler will warn about uninitialized error codes. 2021-07-20scsi: iscsi: Fix shost->max_id useMike Christie
[ Upstream commit bdd4aad7ff92ae39c2e93c415bb6761cb8b584da ] The iscsi offload drivers are setting the shost->max_id to the max number of sessions they support. The problem is that max_id is not the max number of targets but the highest identifier the targets can have. To use it to limit the number of targets we need to set it to max sessions - 1, or we can end up with a session we might not have preallocated resources for. The id_tbl->table pointer points to unsigned long so static checkers complain that instead of 4 we should be allocating sizeof(long) bytes. We're trying to allocate enough bits for the bitmap. The size variable is always 1024. (1024 / 32 * 4) is the same as (1024 / 64 * 8) so this doesn't change runtime, but this is the more idiomatic way to do it and makes the static checker happy. The iSCSI boot information in the NVRAM is populated under /sys/firmware/iscsi_bootX/ using qed NVM-image reading API and further exported to open-iscsi to perform iSCSI login enabling boot over offload iSCSI interface in a Boot from SAN environment.
