2013-10-24s390/s390dbf: use debug_level_enabled() where applicableHendrik Brueckner
Refactor direct debug level comparisons with the (internal) s390db->level member. Use the debug_level_enabled() function instead. Signed-off-by: Hendrik Brueckner <brueckner@linux.vnet.ibm.com> Signed-off-by: Martin Schwidefsky <schwidefsky@de.ibm.com>
2009-11-13s390: remove cu3088 layer for lcs and ctcmUrsula Braun
The cu3088-driver used as common base for lcs- and ctcm-devices makes it difficult to assign the appropriate driver to an lcs-device or a ctcm-device. This patch eliminates the cu3088-driver and thus the root device "cu3088". Path /sys/devices/cu3088 is replaced with the pathes /sys/devices/lcs and /sys/devices/ctcm. Patch is based on a proposal from Cornelia Huck. Cc: Cornelia Huck <cornelia.huck@de.ibm.com> Signed-off-by: Ursula Braun <ursula.braun@de.ibm.com> Signed-off-by: David S. 2009-06-15s390: remove driver_data direct access of struct deviceGreg Kroah-Hartman
In the near future, the driver core is going to not allow direct access to the driver_data pointer in struct device. Instead, the functions dev_get_drvdata() and dev_set_drvdata() should be used. These functions have been around since the beginning, so are backwards compatible with all older kernel versions. Thanks to Sebastian Ott <sebott@linux.vnet.ibm.com> for fixing a few typos in my original version of this patch. additional check of s390dbf level results in better performance if the default low debugging level is active. Signed-off-by: Peter Tiedemann <ptiedem@de.ibm.com> Signed-off-by: Ursula Braun <braunu@de.ibm.com> Signed-off-by: Jeff Garzik <jeff@garzik.org>
2007-10-10lcs: Channel errors drive lcs_recovery which leads to kernel panic.Klaus D. Wacker
When the lcs irq routine detects channel failures it drives device recovery. After this event the device is no longer usable for shutdown requests, because the lcs_irq routine may get wrong channel status information. In such a case the lcs_irq routine marks the channel in 'error' state. The channel state comes back to 'running' after restarting the channels. Signed-off-by: Klaus D. 2006-12-04[S390] non-unique constant/macro identifiers.Ursula Braun
Add some prefixes to constands defined in drivers/s390/net/qdio.h and drivers/s390/lcs.h to make it possible to include the three header files drivers/s390/net/qeth.h, drivers/s390/net/qdio.h and drivers/net/s390/lcs.h in one C file. This is required for the patch that generates the kerntypes.o file for use by lcrash. Signed-off-by: Ursula Braun <braunu@de.ibm.com> Signed-off-by: Martin Schwidefsky <schwidefsky@de.ibm.com>

2006-02-17[PATCH] s390: lcs performance enhancementsFrank Pavlic
[patch 1/2] s390: lcs performance enhancements From: Klaus Wacker <kdwacker@de.ibm.com> - When flood pinging (with large packet size) an LCS device, about 90 % of all packets are dropped by driver. - increased number of lcs IO buffers to 32. - use netif_stop_queue/netif_wake_queue in lcs_start_xmit routine - don't lock the whole xmit routine but just the piece of code where tx_buffer is touched. - Remove all CVS generated information like e.g. revision IDs from drivers/s390 and include/asm-s390 (none present in arch/s390). - Add newline at end of arch/s390/lib/Makefile to avoid diff message. Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
