2018-06-12treewide: Use array_size() in vmalloc()Kees Cook
The vmalloc() function has no 2-factor argument form, so multiplication factors need to be wrapped in array_size(). This patch replaces cases of: vmalloc(a * b) with: vmalloc(array_size(a, b)) as well as handling cases of: vmalloc(a * b * c) with: vmalloc(array3_size(a, b, c)) This does, however, attempt to ignore constant size factors like: vmalloc(4 * 1024) though any constants defined via macros get caught up in the conversion. Any factors with a sizeof() of "unsigned char", "char", and "u8" were dropped, since they're redundant. 2017-05-19ath5k: fix memory leak on buf on failed eeprom readColin Ian King
The AR5K_EEPROM_READ macro returns with -EIO if a read error occurs causing a memory leak on the allocated buffer buf. Fix this by explicitly calling ath5k_hw_nvram_read and exiting on the via the freebuf label that performs the necessary free'ing of buf when a read error occurs. 2016-04-12cfg80211: remove enum ieee80211_bandJohannes Berg
This enum is already perfectly aliased to enum nl80211_band, and the only reason for it is that we get IEEE80211_NUM_BANDS out of it. 2011-07-20ath5k: merge ath5k_hw and ath5k_softcPavel Roskin
Both ath5k_hw and ath5k_softc represent one instance of the hardware. This duplication is historical and is not needed anymore. Keep the name "ath5k_hw" for the merged structure and "ah" for the variable pointing to it. "ath5k_hw" is shorter than "ath5k_softc", more descriptive and more widely used. Put the combined structure to ath5k.h where the old ath5k_softc used to be. Move some code from base.h to ath5k.h as needed. Remove memory allocation for struct ath5k_hw and the corresponding error handling. Merge iobase and ah_iobase fields. 2011-07-13ath5k: disable 32KHz sleep clock operation by defaultFelix Fietkau
While 32 KHz sleep clock might provide some power saving benefits, it is also a major source of stability issues, on OpenWrt it produced some reproducible data bus errors on register accesses on several different MIPS platforms. All the Atheros drivers that I can find do not enable this feature, so it makes sense to leave it disabled in ath5k as well. 2010-10-15llseek: automatically add .llseek fopArnd Bergmann
All file_operations should get a .llseek operation so we can make nonseekable_open the default for future file operations without a .llseek pointer. The three cases that we can automatically detect are no_llseek, seq_lseek and default_llseek. For cases where we can we can automatically prove that the file offset is always ignored, we use noop_llseek, which maintains the current behavior of not returning an error from a seek. New drivers should normally not use noop_llseek but instead use no_llseek and call nonseekable_open at open time. Existing drivers can be converted to do the same when the maintainer knows for certain that no user code relies on calling seek on the device file. The generated code is often incorrectly indented and right now contains comments that clarify for each added line why a specific variant was chosen. In the version that gets submitted upstream, the comments will be gone and I will manually fix the indentation, because there does not seem to be a way to do that using coccinelle. Some amount of new code is currently sitting in linux-next that should get the same modifications, which I will do at the end of the merge window. 2010-07-14ath5k: move reset to mac80211 workqueueBob Copeland
We currently trigger a reset via a tasklet when certain error conditions are detected so that the card will (eventually) restart. Unfortunately this makes locking complicated since reset can also be called in process context (e.g. for channel change). Currently nothing protects against concurrent resets, which can be the source of corruption bugs. Reset takes too long to spinlock the whole thing, so this patch moves deferred resets into the mac80211 workqueue to enable use of sc->lock mutex. Collect all pieces concering the antenna switch table into one function. Previously it was split up between ath5k_hw_reset() and ath5k_hw_commit_eeprom_settings(). Also we need to set the antenna switch table when ath5k_hw_set_antenna_mode() is called manually (by "iw phy0 antenna set", for example). I'm not sure if we need to set the switchtable at the same place in ath5k_hw_reset() as it was before - it is set later thru ath5k_hw_set_antenna_mode() anyways - but i leave it there to avoid problems(?). 2010-04-07ath5k: Adaptive Noise Immunity (ANI) ImplementationBruno Randolf
This is an Adaptive Noise Imunity (ANI) implementation for ath5k. I have looked at both ath9k and HAL sources (they are nearly the same), and even though i have implemented some things differently, the basic algorithm is practically the same, for now. I hope that this can serve as a clean start to improve the algorithm later. This also adds a possibility to manually control ANI settings, right now only thru a debugfs file: * set lowest sensitivity (=highest noise immunity): echo sens-low > /sys/kernel/debug/ath5k/phy0/ani * set highest sensitivity (=lowest noise immunity): echo sens-high > /sys/kernel/debug/ath5k/phy0/ani * automatically control immunity (default): echo ani-on > /sys/kernel/debug/ath5k/phy0/ani * to see the parameters in use and watch them change: cat /sys/kernel/debug/ath5k/phy0/ani Manually setting sensitivity will turn the automatic control off. You can also control each of the five immunity parameters (noise immunity, spur immunity, firstep, ofdm weak signal detection, cck weak signal detection) manually thru the debugfs file.
