2016-05-04treewide: replace dev->trans_start update with helperFlorian Westphal
Replace all trans_start updates with netif_trans_update helper. change was done via spatch: struct net_device *d; @@ - d->trans_start = jiffies + netif_trans_update(d) Compile tested only. 2016-02-05PCI: Remove includes of asm/pci-bridge.hBjorn Helgaas
Drivers should include asm/pci-bridge.h only when they need the arch- specific things provided there. Outside of the arch/ directories, the only drivers that actually need things provided by asm/pci-bridge.h are the powerpc RPA hotplug drivers in drivers/pci/hotplug/rpa*. Remove the includes of asm/pci-bridge.h from the other drivers, adding an include of linux/pci.h if necessary. Signed-off-by: Bjorn Helgaas <bhelgaas@google.com>
2015-05-21spider_net: Use DECLARE_BITMAPJoe Perches
Use the generic mechanism to declare a bitmap instead of unsigned long. Signed-off-by: Joe Perches <joe@perches.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2014-10-05net: spider_net: avoid using signed char for bitopsAntoine Ténart
Signedness bugs may occur when using signed char for bitops, depending on if the highest bit is ever used. Signed-off-by: Antoine Tenart <antoine.tenart@free-electrons.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2014-10-05net: spider_net: do not read mac address again after setting itAntoine Ténart
This patch removes the spider_net_get_mac_address() call at the end of the spider_net_set_mac() function. The dev->dev_addr is instead updated with a memcpy() from sa->sa_data. Since spider_net_get_mac_address() is not used anywhere else, this patch also removes the function. Signed-off-by: Antoine Tenart <antoine.tenart@free-electrons.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2014-08-12PCI: Remove DEFINE_PCI_DEVICE_TABLE macro useBenoit Taine
We should prefer `struct pci_device_id` over `DEFINE_PCI_DEVICE_TABLE` to meet kernel coding style guidelines. This issue was reported by checkpatch. A simplified version of the semantic patch that makes this change is as follows (http://coccinelle.lip6.fr/): // <smpl> @@ identifier i; declarer name DEFINE_PCI_DEVICE_TABLE; initializer z; @@ - DEFINE_PCI_DEVICE_TABLE(i) + const struct pci_device_id i[] = z; // </smpl> [bhelgaas: add semantic patch] Signed-off-by: Benoit Taine <benoit.taine@lip6.fr> Signed-off-by: Bjorn Helgaas <bhelgaas@google.com>
2014-03-24spider_net: Call dev_consume_skb_any instead of dev_kfree_skb.Eric W. Biederman
Replace dev_kfree_skb with dev_consume_skb_any in spider_net_release_tx_chain which can be called in hard irq and other contexts. dev_consume_skb_any was choosen as it preserves the current dev_kfree_skb semantics (dev_kfree_skb is consume_skb) and is because it is correct most of the time as most packets will have been successfully transmitted not dropeed. 2013-10-23net: spider_net: remove unnecessary pci_set_drvdata()Jingoo Han
The driver core clears the driver data to NULL after device_release or on probe failure. Thus, it is not needed to manually clear the device driver data to NULL. Signed-off-by: Jingoo Han <jg1.han@samsung.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2013-05-08net/spider_net: fix error return code in spider_net_open()Wei Yongjun
Fix to return a negative error code from the error handling case instead of 0, as done elsewhere in this function. Signed-off-by: Wei Yongjun <yongjun_wei@trendmicro.com.cn> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2013-04-19net: vlan: rename NETIF_F_HW_VLAN_* feature flags to NETIF_F_HW_VLAN_CTAG_*Patrick McHardy
Rename the hardware VLAN acceleration features to include "CTAG" to indicate that they only support CTAGs. Follow up patches will introduce 802.1ad server provider tagging (STAGs) and require the distinction for hardware not supporting acclerating both. Signed-off-by: Patrick McHardy <kaber@trash.net> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2013-03-17drivers:net: dma_alloc_coherent: use __GFP_ZERO instead of memset(, 0)Joe Perches
Reduce the number of calls required to alloc a zeroed block of memory. Trivially reduces overall object size. Other changes around these removals o Neaten call argument alignment o Remove an unnecessary OOM message after dma_alloc_coherent failure o Remove unnecessary gfp_t stack variable Signed-off-by: Joe Perches <joe@perches.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2012-12-03net/spider_net: remove __dev* attributesBill Pemberton
CONFIG_HOTPLUG is going away as an option. As result the __dev* markings will be going away. Remove use of __devinit, __devexit_p, __devinitdata, __devinitconst, and __devexit. 2012-07-10drivers/net/ethernet: Fix (nearly-)kernel-doc comments for various functionsBen Hutchings

2011-08-16net: Fix sungem_phy sharing.David S. Miller
Since sungem_phy is used by multiple, unrelated, drivers make it build as a real module under drivers/net. depmod will pick up the symbol dependency and make sure sungem_phy.ko gets loaded any time sungem.ko or spider_net.ko is loaded.
