2018-09-21net: seeq: fix return type of ndo_start_xmit functionYueHaibing
The method ndo_start_xmit() is defined as returning an 'netdev_tx_t', which is a typedef for an enum type, so make sure the implementation in this driver has returns 'netdev_tx_t' value, and change the function return type to netdev_tx_t. 2017-11-02net: seeq: fix timer conversionArnd Bergmann
One of the timer conversion patches evidently escaped build testing until I ran into in on ARM randconfig builds: drivers/net/ethernet/seeq/ether3.c: In function 'ether3_ledoff': drivers/net/ethernet/seeq/ether3.c:175:40: error: 'priv' undeclared (first use in this function); did you mean 'pid'? drivers/net/ethernet/seeq/ether3.c:176:27: error: initialization from incompatible pointer type [-Werror=incompatible-pointer-types] This fixes the two small typos that caused the problems. 2017-10-18net: seeq: Convert timers to use timer_setup()Kees Cook
In preparation for unconditionally passing the struct timer_list pointer to all timer callbacks, switch to using the new timer_setup() and from_timer() to pass the timer pointer explicitly. 2016-10-13net: deprecate eth_change_mtu, remove usageJarod Wilson
With centralized MTU checking, there's nothing productive done by eth_change_mtu that isn't already done in dev_set_mtu, so mark it as deprecated and remove all usage of it in the kernel. All callers have been audited for calls to alloc_etherdev* or ether_setup directly, which means they all have a valid dev->min_mtu and dev->max_mtu. Now eth_change_mtu prints out a netdev_warn about being deprecated, for the benefit of out-of-tree drivers that might be utilizing it. Of note, dvb_net.c actually had dev->mtu = 4096, while using eth_change_mtu, meaning that if you ever tried changing it's mtu, you couldn't set it above 1500 anymore. It's now getting dev->max_mtu also set to 4096 to remedy that. v2: fix up lantiq_etop, missed breakage due to drive not compiling on x86 CC: netdev@vger.kernel.org Signed-off-by: Jarod Wilson <jarod@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: David S. 2013-03-09drivers:net: Remove unnecessary OOM messages after netdev_alloc_skbJoe Perches
Emitting netdev_alloc_skb and netdev_alloc_skb_ip_align OOM messages is unnecessary as there is already a dump_stack after allocation failures. Other trivial changes around these removals: Convert a few comparisons of pointer to 0 to !pointer. Change flow to remove unnecessary label. Remove now unused variable. Hoist assignment from if. 2012-12-03seeq: remove __dev* attributesBill Pemberton
CONFIG_HOTPLUG is going away as an option. As result the __dev* markings will be going away. Remove use of __devinit, __devexit_p, __devinitdata, __devinitconst, and __devexit. 2012-11-19net/ethernet: remove useless is_valid_ether_addr from drivers ndo_openJoachim Eastwood
If ndo_validate_addr is set to the generic eth_validate_addr function there is no point in calling is_valid_ether_addr from driver ndo_open if ndo_open is not used elsewhere in the driver. With this change is_valid_ether_addr will be called from the generic eth_validate_addr function. So there should be no change in the actual behavior. 2012-09-19net: seeq: use __iomem pointers for MMIOArnd Bergmann
ARM is moving to stricter checks on readl/write functions, so we need to use the correct types everywhere. Cc: netdev@vger.kernel.org Cc: "David S. Miller" <davem@davemloft.net> Signed-off-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de>
