2021-04-14cxgb4: avoid collecting SGE_QBASE regs during trafficRahul Lakkireddy
[ Upstream commit 1bfb3dea965ff9f6226fd1709338f227363b6061 ] Accessing SGE_QBASE_MAP[0-3] and SGE_QBASE_INDEX registers can lead to SGE missing doorbells under heavy traffic. 2021-03-04cxgb4/chtls/cxgbit: Keeping the max ofld immediate data size same in cxgb4 ↵Ayush Sawal
and ulds [ Upstream commit 2355a6773a2cb0d2dce13432dde78497f1d6617b ] The Max imm data size in cxgb4 is not similar to the max imm data size in the chtls. This caused an mismatch in output of is_ofld_imm() of cxgb4 and chtls. So fixed this by keeping the max wreq size of imm data same in both chtls and cxgb4 as MAX_IMM_OFLD_TX_DATA_WR_LEN. As cxgb4's max imm. data value for ofld packets is changed to MAX_IMM_OFLD_TX_DATA_WR_LEN. Using the same in cxgbit also. 2020-01-29net: cxgb3_main: Add CAP_NET_ADMIN check to CHELSIO_GET_MEMMichael Ellerman
[ Upstream commit 3546d8f1bbe992488ed91592cf6bf76e7114791a = The cxgb3 driver for "Chelsio T3-based gigabit and 10Gb Ethernet adapters" implements a custom ioctl as SIOCCHIOCTL/SIOCDEVPRIVATE in cxgb_extension_ioctl(). One of the subcommands of the ioctl is CHELSIO_GET_MEM, which appears to read memory directly out of the adapter and return it to userspace. It's not entirely clear what the contents of the adapter memory contains, but the assumption is that it shouldn't be accessible to all users. So add a CAP_NET_ADMIN check to the CHELSIO_GET_MEM case. Put it after the is_offload() check, which matches two of the other subcommands in the same function which also check for is_offload() and CAP_NET_ADMIN. 2019-07-31cxgb4: reduce kernel stack usage in cudbg_collect_mem_region()Arnd Bergmann
[ Upstream commit 752c2ea2d8e7c23b0f64e2e7d4337f3604d44c9f ] The cudbg_collect_mem_region() and cudbg_read_fw_mem() both use several hundred kilobytes of kernel stack space. One gets inlined into the other, which causes the stack usage to be combined beyond the warning limit when building with clang: drivers/net/ethernet/chelsio/cxgb4/cudbg_lib.c:1057:12: error: stack frame size of 1244 bytes in function 'cudbg_collect_mem_region' [-Werror,-Wframe-larger-than=] Restructuring cudbg_collect_mem_region() lets clang do the same optimization that gcc does and reuse the stack slots as it can see that the large variables are never used together. 2019-05-31cxgb3/l2t: Fix undefined behaviourGustavo A. R. Silva
[ Upstream commit 76497732932f15e7323dc805e8ea8dc11bb587cf ] The use of zero-sized array causes undefined behaviour when it is not the last member in a structure. As it happens to be in this case. Also, the current code makes use of a language extension to the C90 standard, but the preferred mechanism to declare variable-length types such as this one is a flexible array member, introduced in C99: struct foo { int stuff; struct boo array[]; }; By making use of the mechanism above, we will get a compiler warning in case the flexible array does not occur last. Which is beneficial to cultivate a high-quality code. Fixes: e48f129c2f20 ("[SCSI] cxgb3i: convert cdev->l2opt to use rcu to prevent NULL dereference") Signed-off-by: Gustavo A. R. 2018-10-05net: cxgb3_main: fix a missing-check bugWenwen Wang
In cxgb_extension_ioctl(), the command of the ioctl is firstly copied from the user-space buffer 'useraddr' to 'cmd' and checked through the switch statement. If the command is not as expected, an error code EOPNOTSUPP is returned. In the following execution, i.e., the cases of the switch statement, the whole buffer of 'useraddr' is copied again to a specific data structure, according to what kind of command is requested. However, after the second copy, there is no re-check on the newly-copied command. Given that the buffer 'useraddr' is in the user space, a malicious user can race to change the command between the two copies. By doing so, the attacker can supply malicious data to the kernel and cause undefined behavior. This patch adds a re-check in each case of the switch statement if there is a second copy in that case, to re-check whether the command obtained in the second copy is the same as the one in the first copy. If not, an error code EINVAL is returned. Signed-off-by: Wenwen Wang <wang6495@umn.edu> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
