Shifting the u16 integer oct->pcie_port by CN23XX_PKT_INPUT_CTL_MAC_NUM_POS
(29) bits will be promoted to a 32 bit signed int and then sign-extended
to a u64. In the cases where oct->pcie_port where bit 2 is set (e.g. 3..7)
the shifted value will be sign extended and the top 32 bits of the result
will be set.
Fix this by casting the u16 values to a u64 before the 29 bit left shift.

The shifting of the u8 integers rq->caching by 26 bits to
the left will be promoted to a 32 bit signed int and then
sign-extended to a u64. In the event that rq->caching is
greater than 0x1f then all then all the upper 32 bits of
the u64 end up as also being set because of the int
sign-extension. Fix this by casting the u8 values to a
u64 before the 26 bit left shift.

The macro CN23XX_PEM_BAR1_INDEX_REG is being used to shift oct->pcie_port
(a u16) left 24 places. There are two subtle issues here, first the
shift gets promoted to an signed int and then sign extended to a u64.
If oct->pcie_port is 0x80 or more then the upper bits get sign extended
to 1. Secondly shfiting a u16 24 bits will lead to an overflow so it
needs to be cast to a u64 for all the bits to not overflow.
It is entirely possible that the u16 port value is never large enough
for this to fail, but it is useful to fix unintended overflows such
as this.
Fix this by casting the port parameter to the macro to a u64 before
the shift.

While it is not yet understood why a TX underflow can easily occur
for SGMII interfaces resulting in a TX wedge. It has been found that
disabling/re-enabling the LMAC resolves the issue.

Since commit 2b3e88ea6528 ("net: phy: improve phy state checking")
phy_start_aneg() expects phy state to be >= PHY_UP. Call phy_start()
before calling phy_start_aneg() during probe so that autonegotiation
is initiated.
As phy_start() takes care of calling phy_start_aneg(), drop the explicit
call to phy_start_aneg().
Network fails without this patch on Octeon TX.

In lio_enable_irq, the pkt_in_done count register was being cleared to
zero. However, there could be some completed instructions which were not
yet processed due to budget and limit constraints.
So, only write this register with the number of actual completions
that were processed.

Left shifting the signed int value 1 by 31 bits has undefined behaviour
and the shift amount oq_no can be as much as 63. Fix this by using
BIT_ULL(oq_no) instead.

The thunderx driver forbids to load an eBPF program if the MTU is too high,
but this can be circumvented by loading the eBPF, then raising the MTU.
Fix this by limiting the MTU if an eBPF program is already loaded.

The thunderx driver splits frames bigger than 1530 bytes to multiple
pages, making impossible to run an eBPF program on it.
This leads to a maximum MTU of 1508 if QinQ is in use.
The thunderx driver forbids to load an eBPF program if the MTU is higher
than 1500 bytes. Raise the limit to 1508 so it is possible to use L2
protocols which need some more headroom.

For the non-XDP case, commit 773225388dae15e72790 ("net: thunderx: Optimize
page recycling for XDP") added code to nicvf_free_rbdr() that, when releasing
the additional receive buffer page reference held for recycling, repeatedly
calls put_page() until the page's _refcount goes to zero. Which results in
the page being freed.
This is not okay if the page's _refcount was greater than 1 (in the non-XDP
case), because nicvf_free_rbdr() should not be subtracting more than what
nicvf_alloc_page() had previously added to the page's _refcount, which was
only 1 (in the non-XDP case).
This can arise if a received packet is still being processed and the receive
buffer (i.e., skb->head) has not yet been freed via skb_free_head() when
nicvf_free_rbdr() is spinning through the aforementioned put_page() loop.
If this should occur, when the received packet finishes processing and
skb_free_head() is called, various problems can ensue. Exactly what, depends on
whether the page has already been reallocated or not, anything from "BUG: Bad
page state ... ", to "Unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference ..." or
"Unable to handle kernel paging request...".
So this patch changes nicvf_free_rbdr() to only call put_page() once for pages
held for recycling (in the non-XDP case).

Commit 773225388dae15e72790 ("net: thunderx: Optimize page recycling for XDP")
added code to nicvf_alloc_page() that inadvertently disables receive buffer
page recycling for the non-XDP case by always NULL'ng the page pointer.
This patch corrects two if-conditionals to allow for the recycling of non-XDP
mode pages by only setting the page pointer to NULL when the page is not ready
for recycling.

At the end of NIC VF initialization VF sends CFG_DONE message to PF without
using nicvf_msg_send_to_pf routine. This potentially could re-write data in
mailbox. This commit is to implement common way of sending CFG_DONE message
by the same way with other configuration messages by using
nicvf_send_msg_to_pf() routine.

Set xdp_prog pointer to NULL if bpf_prog_add fails since that routine
reports the error code instead of NULL in case of failure and xdp_prog
pointer value is used in the driver to verify if XDP is currently
enabled.
Moreover report the error code to userspace if nicvf_xdp_setup fails

When configuring SLI_PKTn_OUTPUT_CONTROL, VF driver was assuming that IPTR
mode was disabled by reset, which was not true. Since DPDK driver had
set IPTR mode previously, the VF driver (which uses buf-ptr-only mode) was
not properly handling DROQ packets (i.e. it saw zero-length packets).
This represented an invalid hardware configuration which the driver could
not handle.

octeon_mgmt driver doesn't drop RX frames that are 1-4 bytes bigger than
MTU set for the corresponding interface. The problem is in the
AGL_GMX_RX0/1_FRM_MAX register setting, which should not account for VLAN
tagging.
According to Octeon HW manual:
"For tagged frames, MAX increases by four bytes for each VLAN found up to a
maximum of two VLANs, or MAX + 8 bytes."
OCTEON_FRAME_HEADER_LEN "define" is fine for ring buffer management, but
should not be used for AGL_GMX_RX0/1_FRM_MAX.
The problem could be easily reproduced using "ping" command. If affected
system has default MTU 1500, other host (having MTU >= 1504) can
successfully "ping" the affected system with payload size 1473-1476,
resulting in IP packets of size 1501-1504 accepted by the mgmt driver.
Fixed system still accepts IP packets of 1500 bytes even with VLAN tagging,
because the limits are lifted in HW as expected, for every VLAN tag.

on T81 there are only 4 cores, hence setting max queue count to 4
would leave nothing for XDP_TX. This patch fixes this by doubling
max queue count in above scenarios.

Reason is: in the function assigned to net_device_ops->ndo_stop, the steps
for bringing down the interface are done in the wrong order. The step that
notifies the NIC firmware to stop forwarding packets to host is done too
late. Fix it by moving that step to the beginning.

Offload IP header checksum to NIC.
This fixes a previous patch which disabled checksum offloading
for both IPv4 and IPv6 packets. So L3 checksum offload was
getting disabled for IPv4 pkts. And HW is dropping these pkts
for some reason.
Without this patch, IPv4 TSO appears to be broken:
WIthout this patch I get ~16kbyte/s, with patch close to 2mbyte/s
when copying files via scp from test box to my home workstation.
Looking at tcpdump on sender it looks like hardware drops IPv4 TSO skbs.
This patch restores performance for me, ipv6 looks good too.

Don't offload IP header checksum to NIC.
This fixes a previous patch which enabled checksum offloading
for both IPv4 and IPv6 packets. So L3 checksum offload was
getting enabled for IPv6 pkts. And HW is dropping these pkts
as it assumes the pkt is IPv4 when IP csum offload is set
in the SQ descriptor.

Many source files in the tree are missing licensing information, which
makes it harder for compliance tools to determine the correct license.
By default all files without license information are under the default
license of the kernel, which is GPL version 2.
Update the files which contain no license information with the 'GPL-2.0'
SPDX license identifier. The SPDX identifier is a legally binding
shorthand, which can be used instead of the full boiler plate text.
This patch is based on work done by Thomas Gleixner and Kate Stewart and
Philippe Ombredanne.
How this work was done:
Patches were generated and checked against linux-4.14-rc6 for a subset of
the use cases:
- file had no licensing information it it.
- file was a */uapi/* one with no licensing information in it,
- file was a */uapi/* one with existing licensing information,
Further patches will be generated in subsequent months to fix up cases
where non-standard license headers were used, and references to license
had to be inferred by heuristics based on keywords.
The analysis to determine which SPDX License Identifier to be applied to
a file was done in a spreadsheet of side by side results from of the
output of two independent scanners (ScanCode & Windriver) producing SPDX
tag:value files created by Philippe Ombredanne. Philippe prepared the
base worksheet, and did an initial spot review of a few 1000 files.
The 4.13 kernel was the starting point of the analysis with 60,537 files
assessed. Kate Stewart did a file by file comparison of the scanner
results in the spreadsheet to determine which SPDX license identifier(s)
to be applied to the file. She confirmed any determination that was not
immediately clear with lawyers working with the Linux Foundation.
Criteria used to select files for SPDX license identifier tagging was:
- Files considered eligible had to be source code files.
- Make and config files were included as candidates if they contained >5
lines of source
- File already had some variant of a license header in it (even if <5
lines).
All documentation files were explicitly excluded.
The following heuristics were used to determine which SPDX license
identifiers to apply.
- when both scanners couldn't find any license traces, file was
considered to have no license information in it, and the top level
COPYING file license applied.
For non */uapi/* files that summary was:

- when the two scanners agreed on the detected license(s), that became
the concluded license(s).
- when there was disagreement between the two scanners (one detected a
license but the other didn't, or they both detected different
licenses) a manual inspection of the file occurred.
- In most cases a manual inspection of the information in the file
resulted in a clear resolution of the license that should apply (and
which scanner probably needed to revisit its heuristics).
- When it was not immediately clear, the license identifier was
confirmed with lawyers working with the Linux Foundation.
- If there was any question as to the appropriate license identifier,
the file was flagged for further research and to be revisited later
in time.
In total, over 70 hours of logged manual review was done on the
spreadsheet to determine the SPDX license identifiers to apply to the
source files by Kate, Philippe, Thomas and, in some cases, confirmation
by lawyers working with the Linux Foundation.
Kate also obtained a third independent scan of the 4.13 code base from
FOSSology, and compared selected files where the other two scanners
disagreed against that SPDX file, to see if there was new insights. The
Windriver scanner is based on an older version of FOSSology in part, so
they are related.
Thomas did random spot checks in about 500 files from the spreadsheets
for the uapi headers and agreed with SPDX license identifier in the
files he inspected. For the non-uapi files Thomas did random spot checks
in about 15000 files.
In initial set of patches against 4.14-rc6, 3 files were found to have
copy/paste license identifier errors, and have been fixed to reflect the
correct identifier.
Additionally Philippe spent 10 hours this week doing a detailed manual
inspection and review of the 12,461 patched files from the initial patch
version early this week with:
- a full scancode scan run, collecting the matched texts, detected
license ids and scores
- reviewing anything where there was a license detected (about 500+
files) to ensure that the applied SPDX license was correct
- reviewing anything where there was no detection but the patch license
was not GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note to ensure that the applied
SPDX license was correct
This produced a worksheet with 20 files needing minor correction. This
worksheet was then exported into 3 different .csv files for the
different types of files to be modified.
These .csv files were then reviewed by Greg. Thomas wrote a script to
parse the csv files and add the proper SPDX tag to the file, in the
format that the file expected. This script was further refined by Greg
based on the output to detect more types of files automatically and to
distinguish between header and source .c files (which need different
comment types.) Finally Greg ran the script using the .csv files to
generate the patches.

While experimenting with changes to the timekeeping code, I
ran into a build error in the liquidio driver:

The driver had a type mismatch since it was first merged, but
this never caused problems because it is only built on 64-bit
architectures that define timespec and timespec64 to the same
type.
If we ever want to compile-test the driver on 32-bit or change
the way that 64-bit timespec64 is defined, we need to fix it,
so let's just do it now.

Fix crash in linux PF driver when BARs have been cleared/de-programmed;
fail early init (prior to mapping BARs) if the BAR0 or
BAR1 registers are zero.
This situation can arise when the PF is added to a VM (PCI pass-through),
then a PF FLR is issued (in the VM). After this occurs, the BAR registers
will be zero. If we attempt to load the PF driver in the host
(after VM has been shutdown), the host can reset.

struct call_single_data is used in IPIs to transfer information between
CPUs. Its size is bigger than sizeof(unsigned long) and less than
cache line size. Currently it is not allocated with any explicit alignment
requirements. This makes it possible for allocated call_single_data to
cross two cache lines, which results in double the number of the cache lines
that need to be transferred among CPUs.
This can be fixed by requiring call_single_data to be aligned with the
size of call_single_data. Currently the size of call_single_data is the
power of 2. If we add new fields to call_single_data, we may need to
add padding to make sure the size of new definition is the power of 2
as well.
Fortunately, this is enforced by GCC, which will report bad sizes.
To set alignment requirements of call_single_data to the size of
call_single_data, a struct definition and a typedef is used.
To test the effect of the patch, I used the vm-scalability multiple
thread swap test case (swap-w-seq-mt). The test will create multiple
threads and each thread will eat memory until all RAM and part of swap
is used, so that huge number of IPIs are triggered when unmapping
memory. In the test, the throughput of memory writing improves ~5%
compared with misaligned call_single_data, because of faster IPIs.

In the NIC firmware, the 1-bit flag indicating "firmware is loaded" moved
from SLI_SCRATCH_1 to SLI_SCRATCH_2 (these are Octeon general-purpose
scratch registers). Make the PF driver conform to this change.
Remove code that sets the "firmware is loaded" flag because it's now the
firmware's job to do that.
In the code that detects whether or not the firmware is loaded, don't just
rely on checking the "firmware is loaded" flag because that may cause a
rare false negative. Add code that deduces whether or not the firmware is
loaded; that will never give a false negative.
Also bump up driver version to match newer NIC firmware.

The macro LIO_CMD_WAIT_TM is not specific to the PF driver; it can be used
by the VF driver too, so move its definition from a PF-specific header file
to one that's common to PF and VF.

A VF's MTU is capped at the parent PF's MTU. So if there's a change in the
PF's MTU, then update the VF's netdev->max_mtu.
Also remove duplicate log messages for MTU change.

The fw_type module parameter isn't showing up in the
/sys/module/liquidio/parameters directory. Fix it by setting the read
permission bits for user, group, other in module_param_string(). Revise
the description of fw_type. Initialize the fw_type static char array with
the default value to conform to the module parameter description.
