2022-04-15irqchip/gic-v3: Fix GICR_CTLR.RWP pollingMarc Zyngier

It turns out that our polling of RWP is totally wrong when checking for it in the redistributors, as we test the *distributor* bit index, whereas it is a different bit number in the RDs... Oopsie boo. This is embarassing. Not only because it is wrong, but also because it took *8 years* to notice the blunder... Just fix the damn thing. 2022-04-15irqchip/qcom-pdc: Fix broken lockingMarc Zyngier
[ Upstream commit a6aca2f460e203781dc41391913cc5b54f4bc0ce ] pdc_enable_intr() serves as a primitive to qcom_pdc_gic_{en,dis}able, and has a raw spinlock for mutual exclusion, which is uses with interruptible primitives. This means that this critical section can itself be interrupted. Should the interrupt also be a PDC interrupt, and the endpoint driver perform an irq_disable() on that interrupt, we end-up in a deadlock. Fix this by using the irqsave/irqrestore variants of the locking primitives. 2022-02-23irqchip/sifive-plic: Add missing thead,c900-plic match stringGuo Ren
[ Upstream commit 1d4df649cbb4b26d19bea38ecff4b65b10a1bbca ] The thead,c900-plic has been used in opensbi to distinguish PLIC [1]. Although PLICs have the same behaviors in Linux, they are different hardware with some custom initializing in firmware(opensbi). Qute opensbi patch commit-msg by Samuel: The T-HEAD PLIC implementation requires setting a delegation bit to allow access from S-mode. Now that the T-HEAD PLIC has its own compatible string, set this bit automatically from the PLIC driver, instead of reaching into the PLIC's MMIO space from another driver. INVALL CMD specifies that the ITS must ensure any caching associated with the interrupt collection defined by ICID is consistent with the LPI configuration tables held in memory for all Redistributors. SYNC is required to ensure that INVALL is executed. Currently, LPI configuration data may be inconsistent with that in the memory within a short period of time after the INVALL command is executed. 2021-12-14irqchip/armada-370-xp: Fix support for Multi-MSI interruptsPali Rohár

But allocated interrupt numbers for Multi-MSI needs to be properly aligned otherwise devices send MSI interrupt with wrong number. Fix this issue by using function bitmap_find_free_region() instead of bitmap_find_next_zero_area() to allocate aligned interrupt numbers. 2021-11-17irqchip/sifive-plic: Fixup EOI failed when maskedGuo Ren

When using "devm_request_threaded_irq(,,,,IRQF_ONESHOT,,)" in a driver, only the first interrupt is handled, and following interrupts are never delivered (initially reported in [1]). That's because the RISC-V PLIC cannot EOI masked interrupts, as explained in the description of Interrupt Completion in the PLIC spec [2]: <quote> The PLIC signals it has completed executing an interrupt handler by writing the interrupt ID it received from the claim to the claim/complete register. The PLIC does not check whether the completion ID is the same as the last claim ID for that target. If the completion ID does not match an interrupt source that *is currently enabled* for the target, the completion is silently ignored. </quote> Re-enable the interrupt before completion if it has been masked during the handling, and remask it afterwards. 2021-11-17irq: mips: avoid nested irq_enter()Mark Rutland
[ Upstream commit c65b52d02f6c1a06ddb20cba175ad49eccd6410d ] As bcm6345_l1_irq_handle() is a chained irqchip handler, it will be invoked within the context of the root irqchip handler, which must have entered IRQ context already. When bcm6345_l1_irq_handle() calls arch/mips's do_IRQ() , this will nest another call to irq_enter(), and the resulting nested increment to `rcu_data.dynticks_nmi_nesting` will cause rcu_is_cpu_rrupt_from_idle() to fail to identify wakeups from idle, resulting in failure to preempt, and RCU stalls. Chained irqchip handlers must invoke IRQ handlers by way of thee core irqchip code, i.e. generic_handle_irq() or generic_handle_domain_irq() and should not call do_IRQ(), which is intended only for root irqchip handlers. Fix bcm6345_l1_irq_handle() by calling generic_handle_irq() directly. From the call trace, we can find three interrupts (noted A, B, C above): interrupt (A) is preempted by (B), which is further interrupted by (C). Subsequent investigations show that (B) results in nmi_enter() being called, but that it actually is a spurious interrupt. Furthermore, interrupts are reenabled in the context of (B), and (C) fires with NMI priority. We end-up with a nested NMI situation, something we definitely do not want to (and cannot) handle. The bug here is that spurious interrupts should never result in any state change, and we should just return to the interrupted context. Moving the handling of spurious interrupts as early as possible in the GICv3 handler fixes this issue. 2021-01-27irqchip/mips-cpu: Set IPI domain parent chipMathias Kresin
commit 599b3063adf4bf041a87a69244ee36aded0d878f upstream. Since commit 55567976629e ("genirq/irqdomain: Allow partial trimming of irq_data hierarchy") the irq_data chain is valided. The irq_domain_trim_hierarchy() function doesn't consider the irq + ipi domain hierarchy as valid, since the ipi domain has the irq domain set as parent, but the parent domain has no chip set. Hence the boot ends in a kernel panic. Set the chip for the parent domain as it is done in the mips gic irq driver, to have a valid irq_data chain. 2020-12-16irqchip/gic-v3-its: Unconditionally save/restore the ITS state on suspendXu Qiang
[ Upstream commit 74cde1a53368aed4f2b4b54bf7030437f64a534b ] On systems without HW-based collections (i.e. anything except GIC-500), we rely on firmware to perform the ITS save/restore. This doesn't really work, as although FW can properly save everything, it cannot fully restore the state of the command queue (the read-side is reset to the head of the queue). This results in the ITS consuming previously processed commands, potentially corrupting the state. Instead, let's always save the ITS state on suspend, disabling it in the process, and restore the full state on resume. This saves us from broken FW as long as it doesn't enable the ITS by itself (for which we can't do anything). This amounts to simply dropping the ITS_FLAGS_SAVE_SUSPEND_STATE. 2020-09-03irqchip/stm32-exti: Avoid losing interrupts due to clearing pending bits by ↵qiuguorui1
mistake commit e579076ac0a3bebb440fab101aef3c42c9f4c709 upstream. In the current code, when the eoi callback of the exti clears the pending bit of the current interrupt, it will first read the values of fpr and rpr, then logically OR the corresponding bit of the interrupt number, and finally write back to fpr and rpr. We found through experiments that if two exti interrupts, we call them int1/int2, arrive almost at the same time. in our scenario, the time difference is 30 microseconds, assuming int1 is triggered first. there will be an extreme scenario: both int's pending bit are set to 1, the irq handle of int1 is executed first, and eoi handle is then executed, at this moment, all pending bits are cleared, but the int 2 has not finally been reported to the cpu yet, which eventually lost int2. According to stm32's TRM description about rpr and fpr: Writing a 1 to this bit will trigger a rising edge event on event x, Writing 0 has no effect. Therefore, when clearing the pending bit, we only need to clear the pending bit of the irq. 2020-08-21genirq/affinity: Make affinity setting if activated opt-inThomas Gleixner
commit f0c7baca180046824e07fc5f1326e83a8fd150c7 upstream. John reported that on a RK3288 system the perf per CPU interrupts are all affine to CPU0 and provided the analysis: "It looks like what happens is that because the interrupts are not per-CPU in the hardware, armpmu_request_irq() calls irq_force_affinity() while the interrupt is deactivated and then request_irq() with IRQF_PERCPU | IRQF_NOBALANCING. Now when irq_startup() runs with IRQ_STARTUP_NORMAL, it calls irq_setup_affinity() which returns early because IRQF_PERCPU and IRQF_NOBALANCING are set, leaving the interrupt on its original CPU." This was broken by the recent commit which blocked interrupt affinity setting in hardware before activation of the interrupt. While this works in general, it does not work for this particular case. As contrary to the initial analysis not all interrupt chip drivers implement an activate callback, the safe cure is to make the deferred interrupt affinity setting at activation time opt-in. Implement the necessary core logic and make the two irqchip implementations for which this is required opt-in. In hindsight this would have been the right thing to do, but ... 2020-07-09irqchip/gic: Atomically update affinityMarc Zyngier

The GIC driver uses a RMW sequence to update the affinity, and relies on the gic_lock_irqsave/gic_unlock_irqrestore sequences to update it atomically. But these sequences only expand into anything meaningful if the BL_SWITCHER option is selected, which almost never happens. It also turns out that using a RMW and locks is just as silly, as the GIC distributor supports byte accesses for the GICD_TARGETRn registers, which when used make the update atomic by definition. Drop the terminally broken code and replace it by a byte write. The ti_sci_inta_irq_handler() does not take into account INTA IRQs state (masked/unmasked) as it uses INTA_STATUS_CLEAR_j register to get INTA IRQs status, which provides raw status value. This causes hard IRQ handlers to be called or threaded handlers to be scheduled many times even if corresponding INTA IRQ is masked. Above, first of all, affects the LEVEL interrupts processing and causes unexpected behavior up the system stack or crash. Fix it by using the Interrupt Masked Status INTA_STATUSM_j register which provides masked INTA IRQs status. This patch also fixes a reboot bug on OX820 SoC, where the remaining rps-timer IRQ raises a GIC interrupt that is left pending. After that, the rps-timer IRQ is cleared during driver initialization, and there's no IRQ left in rps-irq when local_irq_enable() is called, which evokes an error message "unexpected IRQ trap". 2020-02-24irqchip/gic-v3: Only provision redistributors that are enabled in ACPIMarc Zyngier
[ Upstream commit 926b5dfa6b8dc666ff398044af6906b156e1d949 ] We currently allocate redistributor region structures for individual redistributors when ACPI doesn't present us with compact MMIO regions covering multiple redistributors. It turns out that we allocate these structures even when the redistributor is flagged as disabled by ACPI. It works fine until someone actually tries to tarse one of these structures, and access the corresponding MMIO region. Instead, track the number of enabled redistributors, and only allocate what is required. This makes sure that there is no invalid data to misuse. Since we generally would never want to unbind this driver, and to save adding a driver tear down path for that, just set the driver .suppress_bind_attrs member to avoid this possibility. Modify plic_init() to skip .dts interrupt contexts other than supervisor external interrupt. The .dts entry for plic may specify multiple interrupt contexts. For example, it may assign two entries IRQ_M_EXT and IRQ_S_EXT, in that order, to the same interrupt controller. This patch modifies plic_init() to skip the IRQ_M_EXT context since IRQ_S_EXT is currently the only supported context. If IRQ_M_EXT is not skipped, plic_init() will report "handler already present for context" when it comes across the IRQ_S_EXT context in the next iteration of its loop. Without this patch, .dts would have to be edited to replace the value of IRQ_M_EXT with -1 for it to be skipped. 2019-10-24irqchip/gic-v3-its: Use the exact ITSList for VMOVPZenghui Yu
On a system without Single VMOVP support (say GITS_TYPER.VMOVP == 0), we will map vPEs only on ITSs that will actually control interrupts for the given VM. And when moving a vPE, the VMOVP command will be issued only for those ITSs. But when issuing VMOVPs we seemed fail to present the exact ITSList to ITSs who are actually included in the synchronization operation. The its_list_map we're currently using includes all ITSs in the system, even though some of them don't have the corresponding vPE mapping at all. Introduce get_its_list() to get the per-VM its_list_map, to indicate which ITSs have vPE mappings for the given VM, and use this map as the expected ITSList when building VMOVP. This is hopefully a performance gain not to do some synchronization with those unsuspecting ITSs. And initialize the whole command descriptor to zero at beginning, since the seq_num and its_list should be RES0 when GITS_TYPER.VMOVP == 1. Fix it to min(GICD_TYPER_SPIS(...), 1020). When allocating a range of LPIs for a Multi-MSI capable device, this allocation extended to the closest power of 2. But on the release path, the interrupts are released one by one. This results in not releasing the "extra" range, leaking the its_device. Trying to reprobe the device will then fail. Fix it by releasing the LPIs the same way we allocate them.
