The state of the center button was not reported to userspace for the
2nd-gen Intuos Pro S when used over Bluetooth due to the pad handling
code not being updated to support its reduced number of buttons. This
patch uses the actual number of buttons present on the tablet to
assemble a button state bitmap.

The syzbot fuzzer discovered a bad race between in the usbhid driver
between usbhid_stop() and usbhid_close(). In particular,
usbhid_stop() does:
usb_free_urb(usbhid->urbin);
...
usbhid->urbin = NULL; /* don't mess up next start */
and usbhid_close() does:
usb_kill_urb(usbhid->urbin);
with no mutual exclusion. If the two routines happen to run
concurrently so that usb_kill_urb() is called in between the
usb_free_urb() and the NULL assignment, it will access the
deallocated urb structure -- a use-after-free bug.
This patch adds a mutex to the usbhid private structure and uses it to
enforce mutual exclusion of the usbhid_start(), usbhid_stop(),
usbhid_open() and usbhid_close() callbacks.

The referenced commit broke pen and touch input for a variety of devices
such as the Cintiq Pro 32. Affected devices may appear to work normally
for a short amount of time, but eventually loose track of actual touch
state and can leave touch arbitration enabled which prevents the pen
from working. The commit is not itself required for any currently-available
Bluetooth device, and so we revert it to correct the behavior of broken
devices.
This breakage occurs due to a mismatch between the order of collections
and the order of usages on some devices. This commit tries to read the
contact count before processing events, but will fail if the contact
count does not occur prior to the first logical finger collection. This
is the case for devices like the Cintiq Pro 32 which place the contact
count at the very end of the report.
Without the contact count set, touches will only be partially processed.
The `wacom_wac_finger_slot` function will not open any slots since the
number of contacts seen is greater than the expectation of 0, but we will
still end up calling `input_mt_sync_frame` for each finger anyway. This
can cause problems for userspace separate from the issue currently taking
place in the kernel. Only once all of the individual finger collections
have been processed do we finally get to the enclosing collection which
contains the contact count. The value ends up being used for the *next*
report, however.
This delayed use of the contact count can cause the driver to loose track
of the actual touch state and believe that there are contacts down when
there aren't. This leaves touch arbitration enabled and prevents the pen
from working. It can also cause userspace to incorrectly treat single-
finger input as gestures.

We've recently switched from extracting the value of HID_DG_CONTACTMAX
at a fixed offset (which may not be correct for all tablets) to
injecting the report into the driver for the generic codepath to handle.
Unfortunately, this change was made for *all* tablets, even those which
aren't generic. Because `wacom_wac_report` ignores reports from non-
generic devices, the contact count never gets initialized. Ultimately
this results in the touch device itself failing to probe, and thus the
loss of touch input.
This commit adds back the fixed-offset extraction for non-generic devices.

A lenovo pixart mouse (17ef:608d) is afflicted common the the malfunction
where it disconnects and reconnects every minute--each time incrementing
the device number. This patch adds the device id of the device and
specifies that it needs the HID_QUIRK_ALWAYS_POLL quirk in order to
work properly.

The struct *bigben was allocated via devm_kzalloc() and then used as a
parameter in input_ff_create_memless(). This caused a double kfree
during removal of the device, since both the managed resource API and
ml_ff_destroy() in drivers/input/ff-memless.c would call kfree() on it.

Syzbot reports that "hiddev" is used after it's free in hiddev_disconnect().
The hiddev_disconnect() function sets "hiddev->exist = 0;" so
hiddev_release() can free it as soon as we drop the "existancelock"
lock. This patch moves the mutex_unlock(&hiddev->existancelock) until
after we have finished using it.

In case a report is greater than HID_MAX_BUFFER_SIZE, it is truncated,
but the report-number byte is not correctly handled. This results in a
off-by-one in the following memset, causing a kernel Oops and ensuing
system crash.
Note: With commit 8ec321e96e05 ("HID: Fix slab-out-of-bounds read in
hid_field_extract") I no longer hit the kernel Oops as we instead fail
"controlled" at probe if there is a report too long in the HID
report-descriptor. hid_report_raw_event() is an exported symbol, so
presumabely we cannot always rely on this being the case.

Commit 8f18eca9ebc5 ("HID: ite: Add USB id match for Acer SW5-012 keyboard
dock") added the USB id for the Acer SW5-012's keyboard dock to the
hid-ite driver to fix the rfkill driver not working.
Most keyboard docks with an ITE 8595 keyboard/touchpad controller have the
"Wireless Radio Control" bits which need the special hid-ite driver on the
second USB interface (the mouse interface) and their touchpad only supports
mouse emulation, so using generic hid-input handling for anything but
the "Wireless Radio Control" bits is fine. On these devices we simply bind
to all USB interfaces.
But unlike other ITE8595 using keyboard docks, the Acer Aspire Switch 10
(SW5-012)'s touchpad not only does mouse emulation it also supports
HID-multitouch and all the keys including the "Wireless Radio Control"
bits have been moved to the first USB interface (the keyboard intf).
So we need hid-ite to handle the first (keyboard) USB interface and have
it NOT bind to the second (mouse) USB interface so that that can be
handled by hid-multitouch.c and we get proper multi-touch support.
This commit changes the hid_device_id for the SW5-012 keyboard dock to
only match on hid devices from the HID_GROUP_GENERIC group, this way
hid-ite will not bind the the mouse/multi-touch interface which has
HID_GROUP_MULTITOUCH_WIN_8 as group.
This fixes the regression to mouse-emulation mode introduced by adding
the keyboard dock USB id.

The `connected` value for wired devices was not properly initialized,
it must be set to `true` upon creation, because wired devices do not
generate connection events.
When a raw client (the Steam Client) uses the device, the input device
is destroyed. Then, when the raw client finishes, it must be recreated.
But since the `connected` variable was false this never happended.

At least on a T100HA an Asus vendor-page usage-code 0xff event is send on
every suspend and again on resume, resulting in the following warning:
asus 0003:0B05:1807.0002: Unmapped Asus vendor usagepage code 0xff
being logged twice on every suspend/resume.
This commit silences the "Unmapped Asus vendor usagepage code ..."
warning for usage-code 0xff to avoid these warnings being logged.

The Acer SW5-012 2-in-1 keyboard dock uses a Synaptics S91028 touchpad
which is connected to an ITE 8595 USB keyboard controller chip.
This keyboard has the same quirk for its rfkill / airplane mode hotkey as
other keyboards with the ITE 8595 chip, it only sends a single release
event when pressed and released, it never sends a press event.
This commit adds this keyboards USB id to the hid-ite id-table, fixing
the rfkill key not working on this keyboard.

The open method of hiddev handler fails to bring the device out of
autosuspend state as was promised in 0361a28d3f9a, as it actually has 2
blocks that try to start the transport (call hid_hw_open()) with both
being guarded by the "open" counter, so the 2nd block is never executed as
the first block increments the counter so it is never at 0 when we check
it for the second block.
Additionally hiddev_open() was leaving counter incremented on errors,
causing the device to never be reopened properly if there was ever an
error.
Let's fix all of this by factoring out code that creates client structure
and powers up the device into a separate function that is being called
from usbhid_open() with the "existancelock" being held.

When polling a connected /dev/hidrawX device, it is useful to get the
EPOLLOUT when writing is possible. Since writing is possible as soon as
the device is connected, always return it.
Right now EPOLLOUT is only returned when there are also input reports
are available. This works if devices start sending reports when
connected, but some HID devices might need an output report first before
sending any input reports. This change will allow using EPOLLOUT here as
well.

The syzbot fuzzer found a slab-out-of-bounds bug in the HID report
handler. The bug was caused by a report descriptor which included a
field with size 12 bits and count 4899, for a total size of 7349
bytes.
The usbhid driver uses at most a single-page 4-KB buffer for reports.
In the test there wasn't any problem about overflowing the buffer,
since only one byte was received from the device. Rather, the bug
occurred when the HID core tried to extract the data from the report
fields, which caused it to try reading data beyond the end of the
allocated buffer.
This patch fixes the problem by rejecting any report whose total
length exceeds the HID_MAX_BUFFER_SIZE limit (minus one byte to allow
for a possible report index). In theory a device could have a report
longer than that, but if there was such a thing we wouldn't handle it
correctly anyway.

Commit 52cf93e63ee6 ("HID: i2c-hid: Don't reset device upon system
resume") fixes many touchpads and touchscreens, however ALPS touchpads
start to trigger IRQ storm after system resume.
Since it's total silence from ALPS, let's bring the old behavior back
to ALPS touchpads.

In the event that the RMI device is unreachable, the calls to rmi_set_mode() or
rmi_set_page() will fail before registering the RMI transport device. When the
device is removed, rmi_remove() will call rmi_unregister_transport_device()
which will attempt to access the rmi_dev pointer which was not set.
This patch adds a check of the RMI_STARTED bit before calling
rmi_unregister_transport_device(). The RMI_STARTED bit is only set
after rmi_register_transport_device() completes successfully.

On some ThinkPad L390 some raydium 3118 touchscreen devices
doesn't response any data after reset, but some does.
Add this ID to no irq quirk,
then don't wait for any response alike on these touchscreens.
All kinds of raydium 3118 devices work fine.

With Usage Page concatenation in Main item, parser recognizes all the
11 Usages as consumer keys, it is not the HID device's real intention.
This patch checks whether Usage Page is really defined after Usage ID
items by comparing usage page using status.
Usage Page concatenation on currently defined Usage Page will always
do in local parsing when Usage ID items encountered.
When Main item is parsing, concatenation will do again with last
defined Usage Page if this page has not been used in the previous
usages concatenation.

The HID descriptors for most Wacom devices oddly declare the serial
number and other related fields as signed integers. When these numbers
are ingested by the HID subsystem, they are automatically sign-extended
into 32-bit integers. We treat the fields as unsigned elsewhere in the
kernel and userspace, however, so this sign-extension causes problems.
In particular, the sign-extended tool ID sent to userspace as ABS_MISC
does not properly match unsigned IDs used by xf86-input-wacom and libwacom.
We introduce a function 'wacom_s32tou' that can undo the automatic sign
extension performed by 'hid_snto32'. We call this function when processing
the serial number and related fields to ensure that we are dealing with
and reporting the unsigned form. We opt to use this method rather than
adding a descriptor fixup in 'wacom_hid_usage_quirk' since it should be
more robust in the face of future devices.

Before commit 67b18dfb8cfc ("HID: i2c-hid: Remove runtime power
management"), any i2c-hid touchscreens would typically be runtime-suspended
between the driver loading and Xorg or a Wayland compositor opening it,
causing it to be resumed again. This means that before this change,
we would call i2c_hid_set_power(OFF), i2c_hid_set_power(ON) before the
graphical session would start listening to the touchscreen.
It turns out that at least some SIS touchscreens, such as the one found
on the Asus T100HA, need a power-on command after reset, otherwise they
will not send any events.

The Primebook C11B uses the SIPODEV SP1064 touchpad. There are 2 versions
of this 2-in-1 and the touchpad in the older version does not supply
descriptors, so it has to be added to the override list.

G920 device only advertises REPORT_ID_HIDPP_LONG and
REPORT_ID_HIDPP_VERY_LONG in its HID report descriptor, so querying
for REPORT_ID_HIDPP_SHORT with optional=false will always fail and
prevent G920 to be recognized as a valid HID++ device.
To fix this and improve some other aspects, modify
hidpp_validate_device() as follows:
- Inline the code of hidpp_validate_report() to simplify
distingushing between non-present and invalid report descriptors
- Drop the check for id >= HID_MAX_IDS || id < 0 since all of our
IDs are static and known to satisfy that at compile time
- Change the algorithms to check all possible report
types (including very long report) and deem the device as a valid
HID++ device if it supports at least one
- Treat invalid report length as a hard stop for the validation
algorithm, meaning that if any of the supported reports has
invalid length we assume the worst and treat the device as a
generic HID device.
- Fold initialization of hidpp->very_long_report_length into
hidpp_validate_device() since it already fetches very long report
length and validates its value

Original version of g920_get_config() contained two kind of actions:
1. Device specific communication to query/set some parameters
which requires active communication channel with the device,
or, put in other way, for the call to be sandwiched between
hid_device_io_start() and hid_device_io_stop().
2. Input subsystem specific FF controller initialization which, in
order to access a valid 'struct hid_input' via
'hid->inputs.next', requires claimed hidinput which means be
executed after the call to hid_hw_start() with connect_mask
containing HID_CONNECT_HIDINPUT.

To solve this issue:
1. Split g920_get_config() such that all of the device specific
communication remains a part of the function and input subsystem
initialization bits go to hidpp_ff_init()
2. Move call to hidpp_ff_init() from being a part of
g920_get_config() to be the last step of .probe(), right after a
call to hid_hw_start() with connect_mask containing
HID_CONNECT_HIDINPUT.

Runtime power management in i2c-hid brings lots of issues, such as:
- When transitioning from display manager to desktop session, i2c-hid
was closed and opened, so the device was set to SLEEP and ON in a short
period. Vendors confirmed that their devices can't handle fast ON/SLEEP
command because Windows doesn't have this behavior.
- When rebooting, i2c-hid was closed, and the driver core put the device
back to full power before shutdown. This behavior also triggers a quick
SLEEP and ON commands that some devices can't handle, renders an
unusable touchpad after reboot.
- Most importantly, my power meter reports little to none energy saving
when i2c-hid is runtime suspended.
So let's remove runtime power management since there is no actual
benefit.

The syzbot fuzzer found a slab-out-of-bounds write bug in the hid-gaff
driver. The problem is caused by the driver's assumption that the
device must have an input report. While this will be true for all
normal HID input devices, a suitably malicious device can violate the
assumption.
The same assumption is present in over a dozen other HID drivers.
This patch fixes them by checking that the list of hid_inputs for the
hid_device is nonempty before allowing it to be used.
