2024-03-01nouveau: fix function cast warningsArnd Bergmann
[ Upstream commit 0affdba22aca5573f9d989bcb1d71d32a6a03efe ] clang-16 warns about casting between incompatible function types: drivers/gpu/drm/nouveau/nvkm/subdev/bios/shadow.c:161:10: error: cast from 'void (*)(const struct firmware *)' to 'void (*)(void *)' converts to incompatible function type [-Werror,-Wcast-function-type-strict] 161 | .fini = (void(*)(void *))release_firmware, This one was done to use the generic shadow_fw_release() function as a callback for struct nvbios_source. Change it to use the same prototype as the other five instances, with a trivial helper function that actually calls release_firmware. 2021-01-27drm/nouveau/bios: fix issue shadowing expansion ROMsBen Skeggs
[ Upstream commit 402a89660e9dc880710b12773076a336c9dab3d7 ] This issue has generally been covered up by the presence of additional expansion ROMs after the ones we're interested in, with header fetches of subsequent images loading enough of the ROM to hide the issue. Noticed on GA102, which lacks a type 0x70 image compared to TU102,. 2015-10-12drm/nouveau/bios: fix OF loadingIlia Mirkin
Currently OF bios load fails for a few reasons: - checksum failure - bios size too small - no PCIR header - bios length not a multiple of 4 In this change, we resolve all of the above by ignoring any checksum failures (since OF VBIOS tends not to have a checksum), and faking the PCIR data when loading from OF. 2015-08-28drm/nouveau/device: include core/device.h automatically for subdevs/enginesBen Skeggs
Pretty much every subdev/engine is going to need access to nvkm_device shortly to touch registers and/or output messages. The odd placement of the includes is necessary to work around some inter-dependencies that currently exist. This will be fixed later. Signed-off-by: Ben Skeggs <bskeggs@redhat.com>
2015-01-22drm/nouveau/bios: namespace + nvidia gpu names (no binary change)Ben Skeggs
The namespace of NVKM is being changed to nvkm_ instead of nouveau_, which will be used for the DRM part of the driver. This is being done in order to make it very clear as to what part of the driver a given symbol belongs to, and as a minor step towards splitting the DRM driver out to be able to stand on its own (for virt). Because there's already a large amount of churn here anyway, this is as good a time as any to also switch to NVIDIA's device and chipset naming to ease collaboration with them. A comparison of objdump disassemblies proves no code changes. Signed-off-by: Ben Skeggs <bskeggs@redhat.com>
2015-01-22drm/nouveau: remove symlinks, move core/ to nvkm/ (no code changes)Ben Skeggs
The symlinks were annoying some people, and they're not used anywhere else in the kernel tree. The include directory structure has been changed so that symlinks aren't needed anymore. NVKM has been moved from core/ to nvkm/ to make it more obvious as to what the directory is for, and as some minor prep for when NVKM gets split out into its own module (virt) at a later date.
