commit 3e138a63d6674a4567a018a31e467567c40b14d5 upstream.
drm_dp_link_rate_to_bw_code and ...bw_code_to_link_rate simply divide by
and multiply with 27000, respectively. Avoid an overflow in the u8 dpcd[0]
and the multiply+divide alltogether.

Current code tries to store the link rate (in bps, which is a big
number) in a u8, which surely overflow. Then it's converted back to
bandwidth code (which is thus 0) and written to the chip.
The code sometimes works because the chip will automatically fallback to
the lowest possible DP link rate (1.62Gbps) when get the invalid value.
However, on the eDP panel of Olimex TERES-I, which wants 2.7Gbps link,
it failed.
As we had already read the link bandwidth as bandwidth code in earlier
code (to check whether it is supported), use it when setting bandwidth,
instead of converting it to link rate and then converting back.

Link training fails with:
Link training timeout waiting for LT_LOOPDONE!
main link enable error: -110
This is caused by too tight timeouts, which were changed recently in
aa92213f388b ("drm/bridge: tc358767: Simplify polling in tc_link_training()").
With a quick glance, the commit does not change the timeouts. However,
the method of delaying/sleeping is different, and as the timeout in the
previous implementation was not explicit, the new version in practice
has much tighter timeout.
The same change was made to other parts in the driver, but the link
training timeout is the only one I have seen causing issues.
Nevertheless, 1 us sleep is not very sane, and the timeouts look pretty
tight, so lets fix all the timeouts.
One exception was the aux busy poll, where the poll sleep was much
longer than necessary (or optimal).
I measured the times on my setup, and now the sleep times are set to
such values that they result in multiple loops, but not too many (say,
5-10 loops). The timeouts were all increased to 100ms, which should be
more than enough for all of these, but in case of bad errors, shouldn't
stop the driver as multi-second timeouts could do.

The probe function needs to get ahold of the panel device tree
node, and it achieves that by using a combination of
of_graph_get_port_by_id, of_get_child_by_name, and
of_graph_get_remote_port_parent. We can achieve the same goal
by replacing those calls with a call to of_graph_get_remote_node

Add support for transparent LVDS decoders by adding a new
compatible string ("lvds-decoder") to the driver.
This patch also adds member connector_type to struct lvds_codec,

from LVDS encoders. We fill this new member up with the data

lvds-encoder.c implementation is also suitable for LVDS decoders,

Instead of creating a new driver for addressing support for

This patch only "rebrands" the lvds-encoder.c driver, to make it
suitable for hosting LVDS decoders support. The actual support for

If implementation-specific phy_ops need to be defined they probably
should be enabled before trying to talk to the panel and disabled only
after the panel was disabled.
Right now they are enabled last and disabled first, so might make it
impossible to talk to some panels - example for this being the px30
with an external Innosilicon dphy that needs the phy to be enabled
to transfer commands to the panel.
So move the calls appropriately.

The timing values for dw-dsi are often dependent on the used display and
according to Philippe Cornu will most likely also depend on the used phy
technology in the soc-specific implementation.
To solve this and allow specific implementations to define them as needed
add a new get_timing callback to phy_ops and call this from the dphy_timing
function to retrieve the necessary values for the specific mode.
Right now this handles the hs2lp + lp2hs where Rockchip SoCs need handling
according to the phy speed, while STM seems to be ok with static values.

To facilitate moving connector creation to display drivers,
decouple the drm_connector from drm_panel.
This patch adds a connector argument to drm_panel_get_modes().
All users of drm_panel_get_modes() already had the connector
available, so updating users was trivial.
With this patch drm_panel no longer keeps a reference to the drm_connector.

The drm_connector created by drm_panel_bridge was accessed
via drm_panel.connector.
Avoid the detour around drm_panel by providing a simple get method.
This avoids direct access to the connector field in drm_panel in
the two users.
The change is done in preparation for removal of drm_panel.connector.
Update pl111 and tve200 to use the new helper.

git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/linusw/linux-gpio
Pull GPIO updates from Linus Walleij:
"This is the bulk of GPIO changes for the v5.5 kernel cycle
Core changes:
- Expose pull up/down flags for the GPIO character device to
userspace.
After clear input from the RaspberryPi and Beagle communities, it
has been established that prototyping, industrial automation and
make communities strongly need this feature, and as we want people
to use the character device, we have implemented the simple pull
up/down interface for GPIO lines.
This means we can specify that a (chip-specific) pull up/down
resistor can be enabled, but does not offer fine-grained control
such as cases where the resistance of the same pull resistor can be
controlled (yet).
- Introduce devm_fwnode_gpiod_get_index() and start to phase out the
old symbol devm_fwnode_get_index_gpiod_from_child().
- A bit of documentation clean-up work.
- Introduce a define for GPIO line directions and deploy it in all
GPIO drivers in the drivers/gpio directory.
- Add a special callback to populate pin ranges when cooperating with
the pin control subsystem and registering ranges as part of adding
a gpiolib driver and a gpio_irq_chip driver at the same time. This
is also deployed in the Intel Merrifield driver.
New drivers:
- RDA Micro GPIO controller.
- XGS-iproc GPIO driver.
Driver improvements:
- Wake event and debounce support on the Tegra 186 driver.
- Finalize the Aspeed SGPIO driver.
- MPC8xxx uses a normal IRQ handler rather than a chained handler"

Allow codec driver register callback function for plug event.
The callback registration flow:
dw-hdmi <--- hw-hdmi-i2s-audio <--- hdmi-codec
dw-hdmi-i2s-audio implements hook_plugged_cb op

dw-hdmi exports a function dw_hdmi_set_plugged_cb so platform device

Add support for configuring Dynamic Range and Mastering InfoFrame from
the hdr_output_metadata connector property.
This patch adds a use_drm_infoframe flag to dw_hdmi_plat_data that platform
drivers use to signal when Dynamic Range and Mastering infoframes is supported.
This flag is needed because Amlogic GXBB and GXL report same DW-HDMI version,
and only GXL support DRM InfoFrame.

max_tu_symbol was programmed to TU_SIZE_RECOMMENDED - 1, which is not
what the spec says. The spec says:
roundup ((input active video bandwidth in bytes/output active video
bandwidth in bytes) * tu_size)
It is not quite clear what the above means, but calculating
max_tu_symbol = (input Bps / output Bps) * tu_size seems to work and
fixes the issues seen.
This fixes artifacts in some videomodes (e.g. 1024x768@60 on 2-lanes &

commit d6abe6df706c ("drm/bridge: sil_sii8620: do not have a dependency
of RC_CORE") changed the driver to select both RC_CORE and INPUT.
However, this causes problems with other drivers, in particular an input
driver that depends on MFD_INTEL_LPSS_PCI (to be added in a separate
commit):
drivers/clk/Kconfig:9:error: recursive dependency detected!
drivers/clk/Kconfig:9: symbol COMMON_CLK is selected by MFD_INTEL_LPSS
drivers/mfd/Kconfig:566: symbol MFD_INTEL_LPSS is selected by MFD_INTEL_LPSS_PCI
drivers/mfd/Kconfig:580: symbol MFD_INTEL_LPSS_PCI is implied by KEYBOARD_APPLESPI
drivers/input/keyboard/Kconfig:73: symbol KEYBOARD_APPLESPI depends on INPUT
drivers/input/Kconfig:8: symbol INPUT is selected by DRM_SIL_SII8620
drivers/gpu/drm/bridge/Kconfig:83: symbol DRM_SIL_SII8620 depends on DRM_BRIDGE
drivers/gpu/drm/bridge/Kconfig:1: symbol DRM_BRIDGE is selected by DRM_PL111
drivers/gpu/drm/pl111/Kconfig:1: symbol DRM_PL111 depends on COMMON_CLK
According to the docs and general consensus, select should only be used
for non user-visible symbols, but both RC_CORE and INPUT are
user-visible. Furthermore almost all other references to INPUT
throughout the kernel config are depends, not selects. For this reason
the first part of this change reverts the commit.
In order to address the original reason for the commit, namely
that not all boards use the remote controller functionality and hence
should not need have to deal with RC_CORE, the second part of this
change now makes the remote control support in the driver optional and
contingent on RC_CORE being defined. And with this the hard dependency
on INPUT also goes away as that is only needed if RC_CORE is defined
(which in turn already depends on INPUT).

The DDC/CI protocol involves sending a multi-byte request to the
display via I2C, which is typically followed by a multi-byte
response. The internal I2C controller only allows single byte
reads/writes or reads of 8 sequential bytes, hence DDC/CI is not
supported when the internal I2C controller is used. The I2C
transfers complete without errors, however the data in the response
is garbage. Abort transfers to/from slave address 0x37 (DDC) with
-EOPNOTSUPP, to make it evident that the communication is failing.

It is possible for one HDMI connector to have multiple CEC adapters. The
typical real-world scenario is that where one adapter is used when the
device is in standby, and one that's better/smarter when the device is
powered up.
The cec-notifier changes were made with that in mind, but I missed that in
order to support this you need to tell cec_notifier_cec_adap_unregister()
which adapter you are unregistering from the notifier.
Add this additional argument. It is currently unused, but once all drivers
use this, the CEC core will be adapted for these use-cases.
