2020-09-03arm64: dts: qcom: msm8916: Pull down PDM GPIOs during sleepStephan Gerhold
[ Upstream commit e2ee9edc282961783d519c760bbaa20fed4dec38 ] The original qcom kernel changed the PDM GPIOs to be pull-down during sleep at some point. Reportedly this was done because there was some "leakage at PDM outputs during sleep": https://source.codeaurora.org/quic/la/kernel/msm-3.10/commit/?id=0f87e08c1cd3e6484a6f7fb3e74e37340bdcdee0 I cannot say how effective this is, but everything seems to work fine with this change so let's apply the same to mainline just to be sure. LDO7 actually provide power to CPU cores and non-cpu blocks circuitries. Keep this regulator always-on to fix this hang. 2020-08-19arm64: dts: qcom: msm8916: Replace invalid bias-pull-none propertyStephan Gerhold
[ Upstream commit 1b6a1a162defe649c5599d661b58ac64bb6f31b6 ] msm8916-pins.dtsi specifies "bias-pull-none" for most of the audio pin configurations. This was likely copied from the qcom kernel fork where the same property was used for these audio pins. However, "bias-pull-none" actually does not exist at all - not in mainline and not in downstream. I can only guess that the original intention was to configure "no pull", i.e. bias-disable. Change it to that instead. 2020-06-25arm64: tegra: Fix ethernet phy-mode for Jetson XavierJon Hunter
[ Upstream commit bba25915b172c72f6fa635f091624d799e3c9cae ] The 'phy-mode' property is currently defined as 'rgmii' for Jetson Xavier. This indicates that the RGMII RX and TX delays are set by the MAC and the internal delays set by the PHY are not used. If the Marvell PHY driver is enabled, such that it is used and not the generic PHY, ethernet failures are seen (DHCP is failing to obtain an IP address) and this is caused because the Marvell PHY driver is disabling the internal RX and TX delays. For Jetson Xavier the internal PHY RX and TX delay should be used and so fix this by setting the 'phy-mode' to 'rgmii-id' and not 'rgmii'. The correct setting for the RGMII ports on LS1046ARDB is to enable delay on both Rx and Tx so the interface mode used must be PHY_INTERFACE_MODE_RGMII_ID. Since commit 1b3047b5208a80 ("net: phy: realtek: add support for configuring the RX delay on RTL8211F") the Realtek 8211F PHY driver has control over the RGMII RX delay and it is disabling it for RGMII_TXID. The LS1046ARDB uses two such PHYs in RGMII_ID mode but in the device tree the mode was described as "rgmii". Changing the phy-connection-type to "rgmii-id" to address the issue. 2020-02-24arm64: dts: qcom: msm8996: Disable USB2 PHY suspend by coreManu Gautam
[ Upstream commit d026c96b25b7ce5df89526aad2df988d553edb4d ] QUSB2 PHY on msm8996 doesn't work well when autosuspend by dwc3 core using USB2PHYCFG register is enabled. One of the issue seen is that PHY driver reports PLL lock failure and fails phy_init() if dwc3 core has USB2 PHY suspend enabled. Fix this by using quirks to disable USB2 PHY LPM/suspend and dwc3 core already takes care of explicitly suspending PHY during suspend if quirks are specified. The numbers come from the manual and have been checked in U-Boot and with perf in Linux. Tested with perf record and taskset on a Pine H64. Since v4.3-rc1 commit 0723c05fb75e44 ("arm64: enable more compressed Image formats"), it is possible to build Image.{bz2,lz4,lzma,lzo} AArch64 images. However, the commit missed adding support for removing those images on 'make ARCH=arm64 (dist)clean'. Fix this by adding them to the target list. Make sure to match the order of the recipes in the makefile. 2020-01-27arm64: dts: juno: Fix UART frequencyAndre Przywara
[ Upstream commit 39a1a8941b27c37f79508426e27a2ec29829d66c ] Older versions of the Juno *SoC* TRM [1] recommended that the UART clock source should be 7.2738 MHz, whereas the *system* TRM [2] stated a more correct value of 7.3728 MHz. Somehow the wrong value managed to end up in our DT. Doing a prime factorisation, a modulo divide by 115200 and trying to buy a 7.2738 MHz crystal at your favourite electronics dealer suggest that the old value was actually a typo. The actual UART clock is driven by a PLL, configured via a parameter in some board.txt file in the firmware, which reads 7.37 MHz (sic!). Fix this to correct the baud rate divisor calculation on the Juno board. [ Upstream commit 90d4fa39d028f2e46c57c3d0e1b759e5287d98b7 ] It is incorrect to specify the no-ether-link property for the AVB device on the Ebisu board. This is because the property should only be used when a board does not provide a proper AVB_LINK signal. However, the Ebisu board does provide this signal. As per 87c059e9c39d ("arm64: dts: renesas: salvator-x: Remove renesas, no-ether-link property") this fixes a bug: Steps to reproduce: - start AVB TX stream (Using aplay via MSE), - disconnect+reconnect the eth cable, - after a reconnection the eth connection goes iteratively up/down without user interaction, - this may heal after some seconds or even stay for minutes. As the documentation specifies, the "renesas,no-ether-link" option should be used when a board does not provide a proper AVB_LINK signal. There is no need for this option enabled on RCAR H3/M3 Salvator-X/XS and ULCB starter kits since the AVB_LINK is correctly handled by HW. Choosing to keep or remove the "renesas,no-ether-link" option will have impact on the code flow in the following ways: - keeping this option enabled may lead to unexpected behavior since the RX & TX are enabled/disabled directly from adjust_link function without any HW interrogation, - removing this option, the RX & TX will only be enabled/disabled after HW interrogation. The HW check is made through the LMON pin in PSR register which specifies AVB_LINK signal value (0 - at low level; 1 - at high level). In conclusion, the present change is also a safety improvement because it removes the "renesas,no-ether-link" option leading to a proper way of detecting the link state based on HW interrogation and not on software heuristic. Commit 951d48855d86 ("of: Make of_dma_get_range() work on bus nodes") reworked the logic such that of_dma_get_range() works correctly starting from a bus node containing "dma-ranges". We can add it later with a proper SoC bus node and moving all the devices that belong there along with the "dma-ranges" if required. commit bed903167ae5b5532eda5d7db26de451bd232da5 upstream. Commit ef72171b3621 ("arm64: dts: exynos: Remove unneeded address space mapping for soc node") changed the address and size cells in root node from 2 to 1, but /memory nodes for the affected boards were not updated. This went unnoticed on Exynos5433-based TM2(e) boards, because they use u-boot, which updates /memory node to the correct values. On the other hand, the mentioned commit broke boot on Exynos7-based Espresso board, which bootloader doesn't touch /memory node at all. This patch reverts commit ef72171b3621 ("arm64: dts: exynos: Remove unneeded address space mapping for soc node"), so Exynos5433 and Exynos7 SoCs again matches other ARM64 platforms with 64bit mappings in root node. This patch moves the properties to the gpio nodes.
