2022-04-08clocksource/drivers/timer-ti-dm: Fix regression from errata i940 fixDrew Fustini
[ Upstream commit bceaae3bac0ce27c549bb050336d8d08abc2ee54 ] The existing fix for errata i940 causes a conflict for IPU2 which is using timer 3 and 4. From arch/arm/boot/dts/dra7-ipu-dsp-common.dtsi: &ipu2 { mboxes = <&mailbox6 &mbox_ipu2_ipc3x>; ti,timers = <&timer3>; ti,watchdog-timers = <&timer4>, <&timer9>; }; The conflict was noticed when booting mainline on the BeagleBoard X15 which has a TI AM5728 SoC: remoteproc remoteproc1: 55020000.ipu is available remoteproc remoteproc1: powering up 55020000.ipu remoteproc remoteproc1: Booting fw image dra7-ipu2-fw.xem4 omap-rproc 55020000.ipu: could not get timer platform device omap-rproc 55020000.ipu: omap_rproc_enable_timers failed: -19 remoteproc remoteproc1: can't start rproc 55020000.ipu: -19 This change modifies the errata fix to instead use timer 15 and 16 which resolves the timer conflict. It does not appear to introduce any latency regression. [ Upstream commit b644c5e01c870056e13a096e14b9a92075c8f682 ] The ti,no-reset-on-init flag need to be at the interconnect target module level for the modules that have it defined. 2021-07-20ARM: dts: dra7: Fix duplicate USB4 target module nodeGowtham Tammana
[ Upstream commit 78b4b165280d3d70e7a217599f0c06a4c0bb11f9 ] With [1] USB4 target-module node got defined in dra74x.dtsi file. However, the earlier definition in [2] was not removed, and this duplication of the target module is causing boot failure on dra74 variant boards - dra7-evm, dra76-evm. USB4 is only present in DRA74x variants, so keeping the entry in dra74x.dtsi and removing it from the top level interconnect hierarchy dra7-l4.dtsi file. This change makes the USB4 target module no longer visible to AM5718, DRA71x and DRA72x so removing references to it in their respective dts files. 2021-05-19clocksource/drivers/timer-ti-dm: Handle dra7 timer wrap errata i940Tony Lindgren
commit 25de4ce5ed02994aea8bc111d133308f6fd62566 upstream. There is a timer wrap issue on dra7 for the ARM architected timer. In a typical clock configuration the timer fails to wrap after 388 days. To work around the issue, we need to use timer-ti-dm percpu timers instead. Let's configure dmtimer3 and 4 as percpu timers by default, and warn about the issue if the dtb is not configured properly. Let's do this as a single patch so it can be backported to v5.8 and later kernels easily. Note that this patch depends on earlier timer-ti-dm systimer posted mode fixes, and a preparatory clockevent patch "clocksource/drivers/timer-ti-dm: Prepare to handle dra7 timer wrap issue". For more information, please see the errata for "AM572x Sitara Processors Silicon Revisions 1.1, 2.0": https://www.ti.com/lit/er/sprz429m/sprz429m.pdf The concept is based on earlier reference patches done by Tero Kristo and Keerthy. Pull ARM SoC DT updates from Arnd Bergmann: "As usual, there are many patches addressing minor issues in existing DTS files, such as DTC warnings, or adding support for additional peripherals. There are three added SoCs in existing product families: - Amazon: Alpine v3 is a 16-core Cortex-A72 SoC from Amazon's Annapurna Labs, otherwise known as AL73400 or first-generation Graviton, and following the already supported Cortex-A1`5 and Cortex-A57 based Alpine chips. This one is added together with the official Evaluation platform. - Qualcomm: The Snapdragon SDM630 platform is a family of mid-range mobile phone chips from 2017 based on Cortex-A53 or Kryo 260 CPUs. A total of five end-user products are added based on these, all Android phones from Sony: Xperia 10, 10 Plus, XA2, XA2 Plus and XA2 Ultra. - Renesas: RZ/G2H (r8a774e1) is currently the top model in the Renesas RZ/G family, and apparently closely related to the RZ/G2N and RZ/G2M models we already support but has a faster GPU and additional on-chip peripherals. It is added along with the HopeRun HiHope RZ/G2H development board A small number of new boards for already supported SoCs also debut: - Allwinner sunxi: Only one new machine, revision v1.2 of the Pine64 PinePhone (non-Android) smartphone, containing minor changes compared to earlier versions. - Amlogic Meson: WeTek Core2 is an Amlogic S912 (GXM) based Set-top-box - Aspeed: EthanolX is AMD's EPYC data center rerence platform, using an ASpeed AST2600 baseboard management controller. - Mediatek: Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 10.1" (kukui/krane) is a new Chromebook based on the MT8183 (Helio P60t) SoC. - Nvidia Tegra: ASUS Google Nexus 7 and Acer Iconia Tab A500 are two Android tablets from around 2012 using Tegra 3 and Tegra 2, respectively. Thanks to PostmarketOS, these can now run mainline kernels and become useful again. The Jetson Xavier NX Developer Kit uses a SoM and carrier board for the Tegra194, their latest 64-bit chip based on Carmel CPU cores and Volta graphics. - NXP i.MX: Five new boards based on the 32-bit i.MX6 series are added: The MYiR MYS-6ULX single-board computer, and four different models of industrial computers from Protonic. - Qualcomm: MikroTik RouterBoard 3011 is a rackmounted router based on the 32-bit IPQ8064 networking SoC Three older phones get added, the Snapdragon 808 (msm8992) based Xiaomi Libra (Mi 4C) and Microsoft Lumia 950, originally running Windows Phone, and the Snapdragon 810 (msm8994) based Sony Xperia Z5. - Renesas: In addition to the HiHope RZ/G2H board mentioned above, we gain support for board versions 3.0 and 4.0 of the earlier RZ/G2M and RZ/G2N reference boards. git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/tmlind/linux-omap into arm/fixes Fixes for omaps for v5.8 The recent display subsystem (DSS) related platform data changes caused display related regressions for suspend and resume. Looks like I only tested suspend and resume before dropping the legacy platform data, and forgot to test it after dropping it. Turns out the main issue was that we no longer have platform code calling pm_runtime_suspend for DSS like we did for the legacy platform data case, and that fix is still being discussed on the dri-devel list and will get merged separately. The DSS related testing exposed a pile other other display related issues that also need fixing though: - Fix ti-sysc optional clock handling and reset status checks for devices that reset automatically in idle like DSS - Ignore ti-sysc clockactivity bit unless separately requested to avoid unexpected performance issues - Init ti-sysc framedonetv_irq to true and disable for am4 - Avoid duplicate DSS reset for legacy mode with dts data - Remove LCD timings for am4 as they cause warnings now that we're using generic panels Then there is a pile of other fixes not related to the DSS: - Fix omap_prm reset deassert as we still have drivers setting the pm_runtime_irq_safe() flag - Flush posted write for ti-sysc enable and disable - Fix droid4 spi related errors with spi flags - Fix am335x USB range and a typo for softreset - Fix dra7 timer nodes for clocks for IPU and DSP - Drop duplicate mailboxes after mismerge for dra7 * tag 'omap-for-v5.8/fixes-merge-window-signed' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/tmlind/linux-omap: Revert "bus: ti-sysc: Increase max softreset wait" ARM: dts: am437x-epos-evm: remove lcd timings ARM: dts: am437x-gp-evm: remove lcd timings ARM: dts: am437x-sk-evm: remove lcd timings ARM: dts: dra7-evm-common: Fix duplicate mailbox nodes ARM: dts: dra7: Fix timer nodes properly for timer_sys_ck clocks ARM: dts: Fix am33xx.dtsi ti,sysc-mask wrong softreset flag ARM: dts: Fix am33xx.dtsi USB ranges length bus: ti-sysc: Increase max softreset wait ARM: OMAP2+: Fix legacy mode dss_reset bus: ti-sysc: Fix uninitialized framedonetv_irq bus: ti-sysc: Ignore clockactivity unless specified as a quirk bus: ti-sysc: Use optional clocks on for enable and wait for softreset bit ARM: dts: omap4-droid4: Fix spi configuration and increase rate bus: ti-sysc: Flush posted write on enable and disable soc: ti: omap-prm: use atomic iopoll instead of sleeping one Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/pull-1591889257-410830@atomide.com Signed-off-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de>
2020-06-08ARM: dts: dra7: Fix timer nodes properly for timer_sys_ck clocksSuman Anna
The commit 5390130f3b28 ("ARM: dts: dra7: add timer_sys_ck entries for IPU/DSP timers") was added to allow the OMAP clocksource timer driver to use the clock aliases when reconfiguring the parent clock source for the timer functional clocks after the timer_sys_ck clock aliases got cleaned up in commit a8202cd5174d ("clk: ti: dra7: drop unnecessary clock aliases"). The above patch however has missed adding the entries for couple of timers (14, 15 and 16), and also added erroneously in the parent ti-sysc nodes for couple of clocks (timers 4, 5 and 6). Fix these properly, so that any of these timers can be used with OMAP remoteproc IPU and DSP devices. The always-on timers 1 and 12 are not expected to use this clock source, so they are not modified. 2020-05-19ARM: dts: Configure system timers for omap5 and dra7Tony Lindgren
We can now init system timers using the dmtimer and 32k counter based on only devicetree data and drivers/clocksource timers. Let's configure the clocksource and clockevent, and drop the old unused platform data. As we're just dropping platform data, and the early platform data init is based on the custom ti,hwmods property, we want to drop both the platform data and ti,hwmods property in a single patch. Since the dmtimer can use both 32k clock and system clock as the source, let's also configure the SoC specific default values. The board specific dts files can reconfigure these with assigned-clocks and assigned-clock-parents as needed. Note that similar to omap_init_time_of(), we now need to call omap_clk_init() also from omap5_realtime_timer_init(). git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/tmlind/linux-omap into arm/fixes Fixes for omaps for v5.4-rc cycle Here are fixes for omaps to deal with few regressions, and to fix more boot time errors and warnings: - The recent ti-sysc interconnect target module driver changes had incorrect clock bits for both clocks and dts that cause warnings - For omap3-gta04, gpio changes caused the LCD to break a while back, and after discussing things the right fix is to set spi-cs-high - Recent omapdrm changes to use generic panels caused tfp410 to be disabled as we now must enable the generic support for it in defconfig - Recent omapdrm and backlight changes also finally made droid4 LCD to work, so let's enable it in the defconfig it can be used out of the box. This is not strictly a fix, but we still also have the older CONFIG_MFD_TI_LMU options available so this cuts down the confusion for trying to guess which display and which backlight is needed - Recent ti-sysc interconnect target module changes need the gpio module disabled on some boards, but this now needs to happen at the module level, not at the gpio driver level - Recent changes to probe system timers with ti-sysc caused warnings about mismatch in syconfig registers, so let's configure the option for RESET_STATUS as available in the TRMs - Recent changes to probe LCDC with ti-sysc caused warnings about mismatch in sysconfig registers, so let's configure the missing idlemodes for both platform data and dts as documented in TRMs - Since we moved mach-omap2 to probe with device tree, we've been getting voltage controller warnings. Turns out this code is no longer needed, so let's just remove omap2_set_init_voltage() to get rid of the pointless warnings - Configure am4372 dispc memory bandwidth to avoid underflow errors * tag 'omap-for-v5.4/fixes-rc1-signed' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/tmlind/linux-omap: ARM: dts: am4372: Set memory bandwidth limit for DISPC ARM: OMAP2+: Fix warnings with broken omap2_set_init_voltage() ARM: OMAP2+: Add missing LCDC midlemode for am335x ARM: OMAP2+: Fix missing reset done flag for am3 and am43 ARM: dts: Fix gpio0 flags for am335x-icev2 ARM: omap2plus_defconfig: Enable more droid4 devices as loadable modules ARM: omap2plus_defconfig: Enable DRM_TI_TFP410 DTS: ARM: gta04: introduce legacy spi-cs-high to make display work again ARM: dts: Fix wrong clocks for dra7 mcasp clk: ti: dra7: Fix mcasp8 clock bits Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/pull-1570040410-308159@atomide.com Signed-off-by: Olof Johansson <olof@lixom.net>

2019-08-26ARM: dts: Add fck for cpsw mdio for omap variantsTony Lindgren
In preparation for dropping legacy platform data and custom ti,hwmods property, we need to make functional clock available for mdio for the SoCs so the the mdio driver can find it. The mdio hardware currently relies on a mdio_hwmod to manage the clock for omap variants. This is wrong though as there are no separate sysconfig registers for mdio. All the cpsw related components are just children of the gmac module. Note that since mdio is a child of cpsw, just doing pm_runtime_get() in the mdio driver enables the clock. However, since mdio is also used by davinci that does not implement runtime PM, let's just add the fck for now. Also note that am437x mdio already has a clock, let's update it to not use the legacy clock naming to unify things further.
