2016-12-08net: smmac: allow configuring lower pbl valuesNiklas Cassel
The driver currently always sets the PBLx8/PBLx4 bit, which means that the pbl values configured via the pbl/txpbl/rxpbl DT properties are always multiplied by 8/4 in the hardware. In order to allow the DT to configure lower pbl values, while at the same time not changing behavior of any existing device trees using the pbl/txpbl/rxpbl settings, add a property to disable the multiplication of the pbl by 8/4 in the hardware. 2016-12-08net: stmmac: add support for independent DMA pbl for tx/rxNiklas Cassel
GMAC and newer supports independent programmable burst lengths for DMA tx/rx. Add new optional devicetree properties representing this. To be backwards compatible, snps, pbl will still be valid, but snps,txpbl/snps,rxpbl will override the value in snps, pbl if set. If the IP is synthesized to use the AXI interface, there is a register and a matching DT property inside the optional stmmac-axi-config DT node for controlling burst lengths, named snps, blen. However, using this register, it is not possible to control tx and rx independently. Also, this register is not available if the IP was synthesized with, e.g., the AHB interface. 2016-06-28drivers: net: stmmac: reworking the PCS code.Giuseppe CAVALLARO
The 3.xx and 4.xx synopsys gmacs have a very similar PCS embedded module and they share almost the same registers: for example: AN_Control, AN_Status, AN_Advertisement, AN_Link_Partner_Ability, AN_Expansion, TBI_Extended_Status. Just the RGMII/SMII Control/Status register differs. So This patch aims to reorganize and enhance the PCS support. It removes the existent support from the dwmac1000/dwmac4_core.c moving basic PCS functions inside a new file called: stmmac_pcs.h. The patch also reviews the available APIs to be better shared among different hardware and easily enhanced to support new features. 2015-07-29stmmac: remove setup/free glue callbacksJoachim Eastwood
As all dwmac-* drivers have been converted to have a proper probe function the setup callback can now be removed. Also remove the free callback that wasn't used by any driver. New dwmac-* drivers should implement standard probe and remove functions to preform any needed setup and teardown. Signed-off-by: Joachim Eastwood <manabian@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2015-07-29stmmac: remove unused stmmac_of_data structJoachim Eastwood
As dwmac-* drivers that need OF match have been converted to use their own internal OF match data structure this can now be removed. Signed-off-by: Joachim Eastwood <manabian@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2015-07-20stmmac: drop custom_* fields from plat_stmmacenet_dataJoachim Eastwood

2014-11-19stmmac: update driver documentationGiuseppe CAVALLARO
Recently many changes have been done inside the driver so this patch updates the driver's doc for example reviewing information for the rx and tx processes that are managed by napi method, adding new information for missing glue-logic files etc. Signed-off-by: Giuseppe Cavallaro <peppe.cavallaro@st.com> Signed-off-by: David S. 2014-01-19net: stmmac: Allocate and pass soc/board specific data to callbacksChen-Yu Tsai
The current .init and .exit callbacks requires access to driver private data structures. This is not a good seperation and abstraction. Instead, we add a new .setup callback for allocating private data, and pass the returned pointer to the other callbacks. Signed-off-by: Chen-Yu Tsai <wens@csie.org> Signed-off-by: David S. 2012-08-31net:stmmac: Remove bus_id from mdio platform data.Srinivas Kandagatla
This patch removes bus_id from mdio platform data, The reason to remove bus_id is, stmmac mdio bus_id is always same as stmmac bus-id, so there is no point in passing this in different variable. Also stmmac ethernet driver connects to phy with bus_id passed its platform data. So, having single bus-id is much simpler. 2012-04-04stmmac: MDC clock dynamically based on the csr clock inputGiuseppe CAVALLARO

2012-04-04stmmac: re-work the internal GMAC DMA platf parametersDeepak SIKRI
This patch re-works the internal GMAC DMA parameters passed from the platform. In the past, we only passed the pbl but, with new core, other parameters can be passed and are mandatory on some platforms. New parameters are documented in stmmac.txt because this patch has an impact for many platforms. 2012-04-04stmmac: Define CSUM offload engine TypesDeepak SIKRI
This patch explicitly defines the CSUM offload engine type which need (not mandatory) to be passed from the platform code. STMMAC core supports two check sum offload engine types- Type-1 & Type-2. Also, there are STMMAC cores that do not have the check sum offload capabilities. The behaviour of Type-1 & Type-2 cores related to provision of checksum increases the packet length for Type-1 cores by 2, as the checksum is appended at the end of data packet and the same is made accountable in the DMA status. The STMMAC cores beyond Version-3.5 provide HW interface registers which allows the user to read the HW capabilities, while to support the previous cores the information related to HW capabilities has to be provided from the platform code. The Type-1 cores which do not have the HW register interface need this information. This patch also updates the driver's doc.
