2022-08-02nfsd: drop CONFIG_NFSD_V3Bruce Ashfield
commit 5f9a62ff7d2808c7b56c0ec90f3b7eae5872afe6 Author: Chuck Lever <chuck.lever@oracle.com> Date: Sun Feb 6 12:25:47 2022 -0500 NFSD: Remove CONFIG_NFSD_V3 Eventually support for NFSv2 in the Linux NFS server is to be deprecated and then removed. However, NFSv2 is the "always supported" version that is available as soon as CONFIG_NFSD is set. Before NFSv2 support can be removed, we need to choose a different "always supported" version. This patch removes CONFIG_NFSD_V3 so that NFSv3 is always supported, as NFSv2 is today. When NFSv2 support is removed, NFSv3 will become the only "always supported" NFS version. The defconfigs still need to be updated to remove CONFIG_NFSD_V3=y. Signed-off-by: Chuck Lever <chuck.lever@oracle.com> Signed-off-by: Bruce Ashfield <bruce.ashfield@gmail.com>
2022-04-03global: replace is not set with =nBruce Ashfield
Upstream is dropping support for is not set, so we adjust our configs accordingly. Commit: https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/masahiroy/linux-kbuild.git/commit/?h=for-next&id=55de8686df7ed2b5237867b130e30c728bbd9db4 kconfig: change .config format to use =n instead of "is not set" The .config file uses "# CONFIG_FOO is not set" form to represent disabled options. In the old days, it was useful because the .config was directly included from Makefiles. For example, you can use "ifdef CONFIG_FOO" in Makefiles to check if the option is enabled. Commit c955ccafc38e ("kconfig: fix .config dependencies") introduced include/config/auto.conf, which mirrors the .config, but trims down all disabled options. Since then, include/config/auto.conf defines CONFIG options during the build. The .config is used just for storing the user's configuration. I do not see a strong reason to use a particular pattern of comment for disabled options. With this commit, Kconfig will output disable options in a more natural form, "CONFIG_FOO=n". Kconfig accepts both "# CONFIG_FOO is not set" and "CONFIG_FOO=n" as a valid input. You do not need to update arch/*/configs/*_defconfig files for now. "git bisect" should be able to cross the commit in both ways without any issue. A problem may occur if you parse the .config for the "# ... is not set" patterns. I adjusted streamline_config.pl, merge_config.sh, scripts/kconfig/tests/. 2020-12-17nfsd: drop fault injection configBruce Ashfield
commit e56dc9e2949edff7932474f2552dd134734cc857 Author: J. Bruce Fields <bfields@redhat.com> Date: Thu Jul 30 20:33:57 2020 -0400 nfsd: remove fault injection code It was an interesting idea but nobody seems to be using it, it's buggy at this point, and nfs4state.c is already complicated enough without it. The new nfsd/clients/ code provides some of the same functionality, and could probably do more if desired. This feature has been deprecated since 9d60d93198c6 ("Deprecate nfsd fault injection"). 2019-08-07nfsd: Move nfsd patch from nfsd-enable.scc to new created nfs.sccHe Zhe
Remove nfsd patch from nfsd-enable.scc which can be included directly or by other features, and thus cause re-application of the patch. Create nfs.scc to include both configuration and patches for potential inclusion for BSPs and/or KTYPEs.
