2023-05-22meta: depend on autoconf-archive-native, not autoconf-archiveRoss Burton
autoconf-archive is a collection of m4 autoconf macros needed at build-time, and autoconf-archive-native is a suitable provider as there is nothing in the recipe that needs to be cross-compiled. Also if we use DEPENDS=autoconf-archive then the recipe's -dev package ends up RDEPENDing on autoconf-archive, which isn't correct. Universally change any DEPENDS on autoconf-archive to the -native form, and add any missing dependencies that were implicit before. 2021-10-30meta: Add explict branch to git SRC_URIsRichard Purdie
There is uncertainty about the default branch name in git going forward. To try and cover the different possible outcomes, add branch names to all git:// and gitsm:// SRC_URI entries. This update was made with the script added to contrib in this patch which aims to help others convert other layers. Drop configure() tweaks, none of them are needed anymore, and particularly the ncurses tweak was changing the build in a way that is not clear (and no one remembers why it was there in the first place). 2017-06-22meta: Drop further remnants of uclibc supportRichard Purdie
uclibc support was removed a while ago and musl works much better. Start to remove the various overrides and patches related to uclibc which are no longer needed. uclibc support in a layer would still be possible. I have strong reasons to believe nobody is still using uclibc since patches are missing and I doubt the metadata even parses anymore. In the new stable busybox_1.21.1 default location of symbolic link for powertop has been changed: /usr/sbin instead of /bin. 2011-07-07powertop: inherit update-alternatives and use a higher priority than busyboxDexuan Cui
busybox-1.18.4 installs /bin/powertop and the powertop recipe installs /usr/bin/powertop. So, in PATH, if /bin appears before /usr/bin, we would run the version offered by busybox, which has a very limited function (e.g., no parameter is accepted) and this causes trouble to eclipse plugin. We can use update-alternatives for powertop with higher priority to resolve the issue. 2010-09-02powertop: fix segfault in dump modeDexuan Cui
The cause is: in dump mode, setup_windows() is not invoked so the *_window variables, like cstate_window, are still NULL; later in main() -> show_cstates(), the functions, like wrefresh(), will trigger segfault. After discussing in PowerTop mailling list, I think the right solution is we should stub out the ncurses calls in dump mode. (The patch was also sent to upstream PowerTop mailling list.) 2010-08-27Major layout change to the packages directoryRichard Purdie
Having one monolithic packages directory makes it hard to find things and is generally overwhelming. This commit splits it into several logical sections roughly based on function, recipes.txt gives more information about the classifications used. The opportunity is also used to switch from "packages" to "recipes" as used in OpenEmbedded as the term "packages" can be confusing to people and has many different meanings. Not all recipes have been classified yet, this is just a first pass at separating things out. Some packages are moved to meta-extras as they're no longer actively used or maintained.
