2013-01-16ALSA: hda/realtek - Fix Oops in alc_mux_select()Takashi Iwai
commit cce4aa378a049f4275416ee6302dd24f37b289df upstream. When no imux is available (e.g. a single capture source), alc_auto_init_input_src() may trigger an Oops due to the access to -1. Add a proper zero-check to avoid it. Signed-off-by: Takashi Iwai <tiwai@suse.de> [PG: in mainline, 21268961d3 rewrites and creates alc_mux_select, but the code that needed the check still existed prior to that in alc_mux_enum_put] Signed-off-by: Paul Gortmaker <paul.gortmaker@windriver.com>
2013-01-16ALSA: sis7019 - give slow codecs more time to resetDavid Dillow
commit fc084e0b930d546872ab23667052499f7daf0fed upstream. There are some AC97 codec and board combinations that have been observed to take a very long time to respond after the cold reset has completed. In one case, more than 350 ms was required. To allow users to have sound on those platforms, we'll wait up to 500ms for the codec to become ready. As a board may have multiple codecs, with some faster than others to reset, we add a module parameter to inform the driver which codecs should be present. 2013-01-16ALSA: lx6464es - fix device communication via command busTim Blechmann
commit a29878553a9a7b4c06f93c7e383527cf014d4ceb upstream. commit 6175ddf06b6172046a329e3abfd9c901a43efd2e optimized the mem*io functions that have been used to send commands to the device. these optimizations somehow corrupted the communication with the lx6464es, that resulted the device to be unusable with kernels after 2.6.33. this patch emulates the memcpy_*_io functions via a loop to avoid these problems. 2012-05-17ALSA: snd_usb_caiaq: track submitted output urbsDaniel Mack
commit da6094ea7d3c2295473d8f5134279307255d6ebf upstream. The snd_usb_caiaq driver currently assumes that output urbs are serviced in time and doesn't track when and whether they are given back by the USB core. That usually works fine, but due to temporary limitations of the XHCI stack, we faced that urbs were submitted more than once with this approach. As it's no good practice to fire and forget urbs anyway, this patch introduces a proper bit mask to track which requests have been submitted and given back. That alone however doesn't make the driver work in case the host controller is broken and doesn't give back urbs at all, and the output stream will stop once all pre-allocated output urbs are consumed. But it does prevent crashes of the controller stack in such cases. See http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=40702 for more details. 2012-03-14sound/oss: remove offset from load_patch callbacksDan Rosenberg
commit b769f49463711205d57286e64cf535ed4daf59e9 upstream. Was: [PATCH] sound/oss/midi_synth: prevent underflow, use of uninitialized value, and signedness issue The offset passed to midi_synth_load_patch() can be essentially arbitrary. If it's greater than the header length, this will result in a copy_from_user(dst, src, negative_val). While this will just return -EFAULT on x86, on other architectures this may cause memory corruption. Additionally, the length field of the sysex_info structure may not be initialized prior to its use. Finally, a signed comparison may result in an unintentionally large loop. On suggestion by Takashi Iwai, version two removes the offset argument from the load_patch callbacks entirely, which also resolves similar issues in opl3. commit 094a42452abd5564429045e210281c6d22e67fca upstream. When the mux for digital mic is different from the mux for other mics, the current auto-parser doesn't handle them in a right way but provides only one mic. This patch fixes the issue. 2011-06-26ALSA: hrtimer: handle delayed timer interruptsClemens Ladisch
commit b1d4f7f4bdcf9915c41ff8cfc4425c84dabb1fde upstream. If a timer interrupt was delayed too much, hrtimer_forward_now() will forward the timer expiry more than once. When this happens, the additional number of elapsed ALSA timer ticks must be passed to snd_timer_interrupt() to prevent the ALSA timer from falling behind. This mostly fixes MIDI slowdown problems on highly-loaded systems with badly behaved interrupt handlers. 2011-06-26ALSA: hda - Fix memory leaks in conexant jack arraysTakashi Iwai
commit 70f7db11c45a313b23922cacf248c613c3b2144c upstream. The Conexant codec driver adds the jack arrays in init callback which may be called also in each PM resume. This results in the addition of new jack element at each time. The fix is to check whether the requested jack is already present in the array.
