2013-03-18tty: ifx6x60: Remove unused suspend/resume callbacksLars-Peter Clausen
The ifx6x60 driver implements both legacy suspend/resume callbacks and dev_pm_ops. The SPI core is going to ignore legacy suspend/resume callbacks if a driver implements dev_pm_ops. Since the legacy suspend/resume callbacks are empty in this case it is safe to just remove them. It allows for cleaning up on a considerable amount of places. They did port_get, hangup, kref_put. Now the only thing needed is to call tty_port_tty_hangup which does exactly that. 2013-01-22serial:ifx6x60: Remove memset for SPI framechanning
There is no need to memset 0 to SPI frame memory before preparing transfer frame bits, because SPI frame header are encoded with valid data size, so don't need to worry about adopting dirty bits, more, memset zero for each SPI frame may impact the spi throughput efficiency. 2013-01-15TTY: switch tty_flip_buffer_pushJiri Slaby
Now, we start converting tty buffer functions to actually use tty_port. This will allow us to get rid of the need of tty in many call sites. Only tty_port will needed and hence no more tty_port_tty_get in those paths. Now, the one where most of tty_port_tty_get gets removed: tty_flip_buffer_push. IOW we also closed all the races in drivers not using tty_port_tty_get at all yet. Also we move tty_flip_buffer_push declaration from include/linux/tty.h to include/linux/tty_flip.h to all others while we are changing it anyway. 2013-01-15serial:ifx6x60:Keep word size accordance with SPI controllerchanning
As protocol driver, IFX SPI driver initiate to setup SPI master with default SPI word size as 16 bit/word, however, SPI master may not adopt this default value due to SPI controller's capability, it might choose an available value by itself and set it to spi_device.bits_per_word. In order to keep align with Controller, IFX driver should make use of this value during SPI transfer, but the default one. 2012-11-15TTY: call tty_port_destroy in the rest of driversJiri Slaby
After commit "TTY: move tty buffers to tty_port", the tty buffers are not freed in some drivers. This is because tty_port_destructor is not called whenever a tty_port is freed. This was an assumption I counted with but was unfortunately untrue. So fix the drivers to fulfil this assumption. To be sure, the TTY buffers (and later some stuff) are gone along with the tty_port, we have to call tty_port_destroy at tear-down places. This is mostly where the structure containing a tty_port is freed. This patch does exactly that -- put tty_port_destroy at those places. This patch is to correct the bit mapping of "MORE" and "CTS" in SPI frame header. 2012-11-01serial:ifx6x60:Prevent data transfer when IFX6x60 port is shutdownchao bi
This patch is to implement following 2 places to avoid potential error when IFX6x60 port shutdown: 1) Clear Flag IFX_SPI_STATE_IO_AVAILABLE to disable data transfer when Modem port is shutdown; 2) Clear Flag IFX_SPI_STATE_IO_IN_PROGRESS and IFX_SPI_STATE_IO_READY when reopen port. This is because last port shutdown may happen when SPI/DMA transfer is in progress, if the last data transfer is not completed(for example due to modem reset), the Flag IFX_SPI_STATE_IO_IN_PROGRESS will be set forever, so when IFX port is activated again, IFX_SPI_STATE_IO_IN_PROGRESS will prevent transferring data forever. 2012-10-25serial: ifx6x60: add_timer is not safe in the mrdy_assert functionJun Chen
This patch make use of mod_timer instead of add_timer in the mrdy_assert function. Because the srdy interrupter can go high when we are running function mrdy_assert and mrdy_assert can be called by multi-entry. 2012-10-25serial: ifx6x60: different SPI word width configure requires different swap ↵chao bi
process SPI protocol driver only provide one function (swap_buf()) to swap SPI data into big endian format, which is only available when SPI controller's word width is 16 bits. 2012-08-13TTY: use tty_port_register_deviceJiri Slaby
Currently we have no way to assign tty->port while performing tty installation. There are two ways to provide the link tty_struct => tty_port. Either by calling tty_port_install from tty->ops->install or tty_port_register_device called instead of tty_register_device when the device is being set up after connected. In this patch we modify most of the drivers to do the latter. When the drivers use tty_register_device and we have tty_port already, we switch to tty_port_register_device. So we have the tty_struct => tty_port link for free for those. All num, magic and owner are set by alloc_tty_driver. No need to re-set them on each allocation site. pti driver sets something different to what it passes to alloc_tty_driver. It is not a bug, since we don't use the lines parameter in any way. Anyway this is fixed, and now we do the right thing. 2011-06-21net: remove mm.h inclusion from netdevice.hAlexey Dobriyan
Remove linux/mm.h inclusion from netdevice.h -- it's unused (I've checked manually). To prevent mm.h inclusion via other channels also extract "enum dma_data_direction" definition into separate header. This tiny piece is what gluing netdevice.h with mm.h via "netdevice.h => dmaengine.h => dma-mapping.h => scatterlist.h => mm.h". Removal of mm.h from scatterlist.h was tried and was found not feasible on most archs, so the link was cutoff earlier. Hope people are OK with tiny include file.
