commit 5cdb0ef6144f47440850553579aa923c20a63f23 upstream.
In case USB disconnect happens at the moment transmitting workqueue is in
progress the underlying interface may be gone causing a NULL pointer
dereference. Add synchronization of the workqueue destruction with the
detach implementation in core so that the transmitting workqueue is stopped
during detach before the interfaces are removed.
Fix following Oops:
Unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at virtual address 00000008

commit 24d413a31afaee9bbbf79226052c386b01780ce2 upstream.
Fix a race which leads to an Oops with NULL pointer dereference. The
dereference is in brcmf_config_dongle() when cfg_to_ndev() attempts to get
net_device structure of interface with index 0 via if2bss mapping. This
shouldn't fail because of check for bus being ready in brcmf_netdev_open(),
but it's not synchronised with USB disconnect and there is a race: after
the check the bus can be marked down and the mapping for interface 0 may be
gone.
Solve this by modifying disconnect handling so that the removal of mapping
of ifidx to brcmf_if structure happens after netdev removal (which is
synchronous with brcmf_netdev_open() thanks to rtln being locked in
devinet_ioctl()). This assures brcmf_netdev_open() returns before the
mapping is removed during disconnect.

commit db3b9e2e1d58080d0754bdf9293dabf8c6491b67 upstream.
It was observed that rarely during USB disconnect happening shortly after
connect (before full initialization completes) usb_hub_wq would wait
forever for the dev_init_lock to be unlocked. dev_init_lock would remain
locked though because of infinite wait during usb_kill_urb:

It was traced down to a case where usb_kill_urb would be called on an URB
structure containing more or less random data, including large number in
its use_count. During the debugging it appeared that in brcmf_usb_free_q()
the traversal over URBs' lists is not synchronized with operations on those
lists in brcmf_usb_rx_complete() leading to handling
brcmf_usbdev_info structure (holding lists' head) as lists' element and in
result causing above problem.
Fix it by walking through all URBs during brcmf_cancel_all_urbs using the
arrays of requests instead of linked lists.

commit c80d26e81ef1802f30364b4ad1955c1443a592b9 upstream.
brcmu_pkt_buf_free_skb emits WARNING when attempting to free a sk_buff
which is part of any queue. After USB disconnect this may have happened
when brcmf_fws_hanger_cleanup() is called as per-interface psq was never
cleaned when removing the interface.
Change brcmf_fws_macdesc_cleanup() in a way that it removes the
corresponding packets from hanger table (to avoid double-free when
brcmf_fws_hanger_cleanup() is called) and add a call to clean-up the
interface specific packet queue.
Below is a WARNING during USB disconnect with Raspberry Pi WiFi dongle
running in AP mode. This was reproducible when the interface was
transmitting during the disconnect and is fixed with this commit.

commit a9fd0953fa4a62887306be28641b4b0809f3b2fd upstream.
Leaving dev_init_lock mutex locked in probe causes BUG and a WARNING when
kernel is compiled with CONFIG_PROVE_LOCKING. Convert mutex to completion
which silences those warnings and improves code readability.
Fix below errors when connecting the USB WiFi dongle:

commit d825db346270dbceef83b7b750dbc29f1d7dcc0e upstream.
Clang warns about what is clearly a case of passing an uninitalized
variable into a static function:
drivers/net/wireless/broadcom/b43/phy_lp.c:1852:23: error: variable 'gains' is uninitialized when used here
[-Werror,-Wuninitialized]
lpphy_papd_cal(dev, gains, 0, 1, 30);
^~~~~
drivers/net/wireless/broadcom/b43/phy_lp.c:1838:2: note: variable 'gains' is declared here
struct lpphy_tx_gains gains, oldgains;
^
1 error generated.
However, this function is empty, and its arguments are never evaluated,
so gcc in contrast does not warn here. Both compilers behave in a
reasonable way as far as I can tell, so we should change the code
to avoid the warning everywhere.
We could just eliminate the lpphy_papd_cal() function entirely,
given that it has had the TODO comment in it for 10 years now
and is rather unlikely to ever get done. I'm doing a simpler
change here, and just pass the 'oldgains' variable in that has
been initialized, based on the guess that this is what was
originally meant.

commit b4c35c17227fe437ded17ce683a6927845f8c4a4 upstream.
The "rate_index" is only used as an index into the phist_data->rx_rate[]
array in the mwifiex_hist_data_set() function. That array has
MWIFIEX_MAX_AC_RX_RATES (74) elements and it's used to generate some
debugfs information. The "rate_index" variable comes from the network
skb->data[] and it is a u8 so it's in the 0-255 range. We need to cap
it to prevent an array overflow.

commit 30f24eabab8cd801064c5c37589d803cb4341929 upstream.
If for some reason the device gives us an RX interrupt before we're
ready for it, perhaps during device power-on with misconfigured IRQ
causes mapping or so, we can crash trying to access the queues.
Prevent that by checking that we actually have RXQs and that they
were properly allocated.

commit e025da3d7aa4770bb1d1b3b0aa7cc4da1744852d upstream.
If "ret_len" is negative then it could lead to a NULL dereference.
The "ret_len" value comes from nl80211_vendor_cmd(), if it's negative
then we don't allocate the "dcmd_buf" buffer. Then we pass "ret_len" to
brcmf_fil_cmd_data_set() where it is cast to a very high u32 value.
Most of the functions in that call tree check whether the buffer we pass
is NULL but there are at least a couple places which don't such as
brcmf_dbg_hex_dump() and brcmf_msgbuf_query_dcmd(). We memcpy() to and
from the buffer so it would result in a NULL dereference.
The fix is to change the types so that "ret_len" can't be negative. (If
we memcpy() zero bytes to NULL, that's a no-op and doesn't cause an
issue).

commit a4176ec356c73a46c07c181c6d04039fafa34a9f upstream.
For USB there is no separate channel being used to pass events
from firmware to the host driver and as such are passed over the
data path. In order to detect mock event messages an additional
check is needed on event subtype. This check is added conditionally
using unlikely() keyword.

commit de1887c064b9996ac03120d90d0a909a3f678f98 upstream.
We don't check for the validity of the lengths in the packet received
from the firmware. If the MPDU length received in the rx descriptor
is too short to contain the header length and the crypt length
together, we may end up trying to copy a negative number of bytes
(headlen - hdrlen < 0) which will underflow and cause us to try to
copy a huge amount of data. This causes oopses such as this one:

commit 6b583201fa219b7b1b6aebd8966c8fd9357ef9f4 upstream.
It was reported on OpenWrt bug tracking system[1], that several users
are affected by the endless reboot of their routers if they configure
5GHz interface with channel 44 or 48.
The reboot loop is caused by the following excessive number of WARN_ON
messages:

as the messages are being correctly emitted by the following guard:
case RX_ENC_LEGACY:
if (WARN_ON(status->rate_idx >= sband->n_bitrates))
as the rate_idx is in this case erroneously set to 251 (0xfb). This fix
simply converts previously used magic number to proper constant and
guards against substraction which is leading to the currently observed
underflow.

Currently rt2x00 devices retransmit the management frames with
incremented sequence number if hardware is assigning the sequence.
This is HW bug fixed already for non-QOS data frames, but it should
be fixed for management frames except beacon.

AlphaNet_e8:fb:36 Vivotek_52:31:51 Authentication, SN=1650, FN=0, Flags=....R...C Frame is being retransmitted 1650 1
With the fix SN stays correctly the same:

commit 4c62764d0fc21a34ffc44eec1210038c3a2e4473 upstream.
While running regressions, observed below kernel panic when sdio disconnect
called. This is because of, kthread_stop() is taking care of
wait_for_completion() by default. When wait_for_completion triggered
in kthread_stop and as it was done already, giving kernel panic.
Hence, removing redundant wait_for_completion() from rsi_kill_thread().

commit 4ad0be160544ffbdafb7cec39bb8e6dd0a97317a upstream.
The linux-firmware brcmfmac firmware files contain an embedded table with
per country allowed channels and strength info.
For recent hardware these versions of the firmware are specially build for
linux-firmware, the firmware files directly available from Cypress rely on
a separate clm_blob file for this info.
For some unknown reason Cypress refuses to provide the standard firmware
files + clm_blob files it uses elsewhere for inclusion into linux-firmware,
instead relying on these special builds with the clm_blob info embedded.
This means that the linux-firmware firmware versions often lag behind,
but I digress.
The brcmfmac driver does support the separate clm_blob file and always
tries to load this. Currently we use request_firmware for this. This means
that on any standard install, using the standard combo of linux-kernel +
linux-firmware, we will get a warning:
"Direct firmware load for ... failed with error -2"
On top of this, brcmfmac itself prints: "no clm_blob available (err=-2),
device may have limited channels available".
This commit switches to firmware_request_nowarn, fixing almost any brcmfmac
device logging the warning (it leaves the brcmfmac info message in place).

commit 1863008369ae0407508033b4b00f98b985adeb15 upstream.
WCN3990 supports shadow registers write operation support
for copy engine for regular operation in powersave mode.
Since WCN3990 is a 64-bit target, the shadow register
implementation needs to be done in the copy engine handlers
for 64-bit target. Currently the shadow register implementation
is present in the 32-bit target handlers of copy engine.
Fix the shadow register copy engine write operation
implementation for 64-bit target(WCN3990).

commit c6ac9f9fb98851f47b978a9476594fc3c477a34d upstream.
Allocator swaps the pending requests with 0 when it starts
working. This means that relying on it n RX path to decide if
to move to emergency is not always a good idea, since it may
be zero, but there are still a lot of unallocated RBs in the
system. Change allocator to decrement the pending requests on
real time. It is more expensive since it accesses the atomic
variable more times, but it gives the RX path a better idea
of the system's status.

commit 6f21ab30469d670de620f758330aca9f3433f693 upstream.
As it is, doing something like
# iw phy phy0 interface add foobar type ibss
on a firmware that doesn't have ad-hoc support just yields failures of
HostCmd_CMD_SET_BSS_MODE, which happened to return a '-1' error code
(-EPERM? not really right...) and sometimes may even crash the firmware
along the way.
Let's parse the firmware capability flag while registering the wiphy, so
we don't allow attempting IBSS at all, and we get a proper -EOPNOTSUPP
from nl80211 instead.

commit ce938231bd3b1d7af3cbd8836f084801090470e1 upstream.
ath9k_of_init() function[0] was initially written on the assumption that
if someone had an explicit ath9k OF node that "there must be something
wrong, why would someone add an OF node if everything is fine"[1]
(Quoting Martin Blumenstingl <martin.blumenstingl@googlemail.com>)
"it turns out it's not that simple. with your requirements I'm now aware
of two use-cases where the current code in ath9k_of_init() doesn't work
without modifications"[1]
The "your requirements" Martin speaks of is the result of the fact that I
have a device (PowerCloud Systems CR5000) has some kind of default - not
unique mac address - set and requires to set the correct MAC address via
mac-address devicetree property, however:
"some cards come with a physical EEPROM chip [or OTP] so "qca,no-eeprom"
should not be set (your use-case). in this case AH_USE_EEPROM should be
set (which is the default when there is no OF node)"[1]
The other use case is:
the firmware on some PowerMac G5 seems to add a OF node for the ath9k
card automatically. depending on the EEPROM on the card AH_NO_EEP_SWAP
should be unset (which is the default when there is no OF node). see [3]
After this patch to ath9k_of_init() the new behavior will be:
if there's no OF node then everything is the same as before
if there's an empty OF node then ath9k will use the hardware EEPROM
(before ath9k would fail to initialize because no EEPROM data was
provided by userspace)
if there's an OF node with only a MAC address then ath9k will use
the MAC address and the hardware EEPROM (see the case above)
with "qca,no-eeprom" EEPROM data from userspace will be requested.
the behavior here will not change
[1]
Martin provides additional background on EEPROM swapping[1].
Thanks to Christian Lamparter <chunkeey@gmail.com> for all his help on
troubleshooting this issue and the basis for this patch.

commit 13e62626c578d9889ebbda7c521be5adff9bef8e upstream.
During "wlan-up", we are programming the FW into the WiFi-chip. However,
re-programming the FW doesn't work, unless a power cycle of the WiFi-chip
is made in-between the programmings.
To conform to this requirement and to fix the regression in a simple way,
let's start by allowing that the SDIO card (WiFi-chip) may stay powered on
(runtime resumed) when wl12xx_sdio_power_off() returns. The intent with the
current code is to treat this scenario as an error, but unfortunate this
doesn't work as expected, so let's fix this.
The other part is to guarantee that a power cycle of the SDIO card has been
completed when wl12xx_sdio_power_on() returns, as to allow the FW
programming to succeed. However, relying solely on runtime PM to deal with
this isn't sufficient. For example, userspace may prevent runtime suspend
via sysfs for the device that represents the SDIO card, leading to that the
mmc core also keeps it powered on. For this reason, let's instead do a
brute force power cycle in wl12xx_sdio_power_on().

commit 4f68ef64cd7feb1220232bd8f501d8aad340a099 upstream.
The function cw1200_bss_info_changed() and cw1200_hw_scan() can be
concurrently executed.
The two functions both access a possible shared variable "frame.skb".
This shared variable is freed by dev_kfree_skb() in cw1200_upload_beacon(),
which is called by cw1200_bss_info_changed(). The free operation is
protected by a mutex lock "priv->conf_mutex" in cw1200_bss_info_changed().
In cw1200_hw_scan(), this shared variable is accessed without the
protection of the mutex lock "priv->conf_mutex".
Thus, concurrency use-after-free bugs may occur.
To fix these bugs, the original calls to mutex_lock(&priv->conf_mutex) and
mutex_unlock(&priv->conf_mutex) are moved to the places, which can
protect the accesses to the shared variable.

commit 3baf7528d6f832b28622d1ddadd2e47f6c2b5e08 upstream.
The parameter that indicated whether the LQ command should be sent
as sync or async was removed, causing the LQ command to be sent as
sync from interrupt context (e.g. from the RX path). This resulted
in a kernel warning: "scheduling while atomic" and failing to send
the LQ command, which ultimately leads to a queue hang.
Fix it by adding back the required parameter to send the command as
sync only when it is allowed.

commit 2d3b55853b123c177037cf534c5aaa2650310094 upstream.
There was a race condition in SMP that an ath10k_peer was created but its
member sta was null. Following are procedures of ath10k_peer creation and
member sta access in peer statistics path.
1. Peer creation:
ath10k_peer_create()
=>ath10k_wmi_peer_create()
=>ath10k_wait_for_peer_created()
...
# another kernel path, RX from firmware
ath10k_htt_t2h_msg_handler()
=>ath10k_peer_map_event()
=>wake_up()
# ar->peer_map[id] = peer //add peer to map
#wake up original path from waiting
...
# peer->sta = sta //sta assignment
2. RX path of statistics
ath10k_htt_t2h_msg_handler()
=>ath10k_update_per_peer_tx_stats()
=>ath10k_htt_fetch_peer_stats()
# peer->sta //sta accessing
Any access of peer->sta after peer was added to peer_map but before sta was
assigned could cause a null pointer issue. And because these two steps are
asynchronous, no proper lock can protect them. So both peer and sta need to
be checked before access.

commit 7c250f4612ae97aa04500c0d0cff69bb87046e3a upstream.
Starting from mac80211 commit adf8ed01e4fd ("mac80211: add an optional
TXQ for other PS-buffered frames") and commit 0eeb2b674f05 ("mac80211:
add an option for station management TXQ") a new per-sta queue has been
introduced for bufferable management frames.
sta->txq[IEEE80211_NUM_TIDS] is initialized just if the driver reports
the following hw flags:
- IEEE80211_HW_STA_MMPDU_TXQ
- IEEE80211_HW_BUFF_MMPDU_TXQ
This can produce a NULL pointer dereference in mt76_stop_tx_queues
since mt76 iterates on all available sta tx queues assuming they are
initialized by mac80211. This issue has been spotted analyzing the code

[ 31.096533] Disabling lock debugging due to kernel taint
It appears that when trying to determine the length of the string in the
alternate firmware path, we make the mistake of not handling the case
where the firmware path is empty correctly. Since strlen(mp_path) can
return 0, we'll end up accessing mp_path[-1] when the firmware_path
isn't provided through the module arguments.
So, fix this by just setting the end char to '\0' by default, and only
changing it if we have a non-zero length. Additionally, use strnlen()
with BRCMF_FW_ALTPATH_LEN instead of strlen() just to be extra safe.

commit 8c892df41500469729e0d662816300196e4f463d upstream.
When the update_connect_param callback is set, nl80211 expects the flag
WIPHY_FLAG_SUPPORTS_FW_ROAM to be set as well. However, this flag is
