Change devm_k*alloc to k*alloc to manually allocate memory The manual allocation and freeing of memory is necessary because when the USB radio is disconnected, the memory associated with devm_k*alloc is freed. Meaning if we still have unresolved references to the radio device, then we get use-after-free errors. This patch fixes this by manually allocating memory, and freeing it in the v4l2.release callback that gets called when the last radio device exits. 2019-03-29media: wl128x: prevent two potential buffer overflowsDan Carpenter
Smatch marks skb->data as untrusted so it warns that "evt_hdr->dlen" can copy up to 255 bytes and we only have room for two bytes. Even if this comes from the firmware and we trust it, the new policy generally is just to fix it as kernel hardenning. I can't test this code so I tried to be very conservative. I considered not allowing "evt_hdr->dlen == 1" because it doesn't initialize the whole variable but in the end I decided to allow it and manually initialized "asic_id" and "asic_ver" to zero. 2018-04-20media: sound, media: allow building ISA drivers it with COMPILE_TESTMauro Carvalho Chehab
All sound drivers that don't depend on PNP can be safelly build with COMPILE_TEST, as ISA provides function stubs to be used for such purposes. As a side effect, with this change, the radio-miropcm20 can now be built outside i386 with COMPILE_TEST. It should be noticed that ISAPNP currently depends on ISA. So, on drivers that depend on it, we need to add an explicit dependency on ISA, at least until another patch removes it. Most of that stuff is as simple as 'make ->poll() instances return __poll_t and do the same to local variables used to hold the future return value'. Some of the obvious brainos found in process are fixed (e.g. POLLIN misspelled as POLL_IN). At that point the amount of sparse warnings is low and most of them are for genuine bugs - e.g. ->poll() instance deciding to return -EINVAL instead of a bitmap. I hadn't touched those in this series - it's large enough as it is. Another problem it has caught was eventpoll() ABI mess; select.c and eventpoll.c assumed that corresponding POLL### and EPOLL### were equal. That's true for some, but not all of them - EPOLL### are arch-independent, but POLL### are not. The last commit in this series separates userland POLL### values from the (now arch-independent) kernel-side ones, converting between them in the few places where they are copied to/from userland. AFAICS, this is the least disruptive fix preserving poll(2) ABI and making epoll() work on all architectures. As it is, it's simply broken on sparc - try to give it EPOLLWRNORM and it will trigger only on what would've triggered EPOLLWRBAND on other architectures. EPOLLWRBAND and EPOLLRDHUP, OTOH, are never triggered at all on sparc. The logic at si476x_radio_s_hw_freq_seek() checks if the frequency range that will be used to handle hardware seek has the minimal frequency under rangelow. That works fine if userspace zeros both fields. However, if userspace fills either seek->rangelow or seek-rangehigh, it won't read the corresponding range from the device, causing the values to be unitialized, as warned by smatch: drivers/media/radio/radio-si476x.c:789 si476x_radio_s_hw_freq_seek() error: uninitialized symbol 'rangelow'. drivers/media/radio/radio-si476x.c:789 si476x_radio_s_hw_freq_seek() error: uninitialized symbol 'rangehigh'. Fix it by initializing those vars from the values present at the struct v4l2_hw_freq_seek. While here, simplify the logic which reads such values from the hardware limits.
