2020-08-19ARM: dts: omap: add channel to DSI panelsSebastian Reichel
The standard binding for DSI requires that the channel number of the panel is encoded in DT. This adds the channel number in all OMAP3-5 boards in preparation for using common infrastructure. 2020-08-19ARM: dts: omap4: Fix sgx clock rate for 4430Tony Lindgren
We currently have a different clock rate for droid4 compared to the stock v3.0.8 based Android Linux kernel: # cat /sys/kernel/debug/clk/dpll_*_m7x2_ck/clk_rate 266666667 307200000 # cat /sys/kernel/debug/clk/l3_gfx_cm:clk:0000:0/clk_rate 307200000 Let's fix this by configuring sgx to use 153.6 MHz instead of 307.2 MHz. Looks like also at least duover needs this change to avoid hangs, so let's apply it for all 4430. This helps a bit with thermal issues that seem to be related to memory corruption when using sgx. It seems that other driver related issues still remain though. 2020-08-18ARM: dts: Configure omap4 and 5 l4_abe for genpd and drop platform dataTony Lindgren
We can power off l4_abe domain when not in use when we configure it for genpd. And with that change, we can now also drop the old unused legacy platform data. Note that we also need to now use "simple-pm-bus" instead of "simple-bus" for PM runtime to get enabled for the bus. Pull ARM SoC DT updates from Arnd Bergmann: "As usual, there are many patches addressing minor issues in existing DTS files, such as DTC warnings, or adding support for additional peripherals. There are three added SoCs in existing product families: - Amazon: Alpine v3 is a 16-core Cortex-A72 SoC from Amazon's Annapurna Labs, otherwise known as AL73400 or first-generation Graviton, and following the already supported Cortex-A1`5 and Cortex-A57 based Alpine chips. This one is added together with the official Evaluation platform. - Qualcomm: The Snapdragon SDM630 platform is a family of mid-range mobile phone chips from 2017 based on Cortex-A53 or Kryo 260 CPUs. A total of five end-user products are added based on these, all Android phones from Sony: Xperia 10, 10 Plus, XA2, XA2 Plus and XA2 Ultra. - Renesas: RZ/G2H (r8a774e1) is currently the top model in the Renesas RZ/G family, and apparently closely related to the RZ/G2N and RZ/G2M models we already support but has a faster GPU and additional on-chip peripherals. It is added along with the HopeRun HiHope RZ/G2H development board A small number of new boards for already supported SoCs also debut: - Allwinner sunxi: Only one new machine, revision v1.2 of the Pine64 PinePhone (non-Android) smartphone, containing minor changes compared to earlier versions. - Amlogic Meson: WeTek Core2 is an Amlogic S912 (GXM) based Set-top-box - Aspeed: EthanolX is AMD's EPYC data center rerence platform, using an ASpeed AST2600 baseboard management controller. - Mediatek: Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 10.1" (kukui/krane) is a new Chromebook based on the MT8183 (Helio P60t) SoC. - Nvidia Tegra: ASUS Google Nexus 7 and Acer Iconia Tab A500 are two Android tablets from around 2012 using Tegra 3 and Tegra 2, respectively. Thanks to PostmarketOS, these can now run mainline kernels and become useful again. The Jetson Xavier NX Developer Kit uses a SoM and carrier board for the Tegra194, their latest 64-bit chip based on Carmel CPU cores and Volta graphics. - NXP i.MX: Five new boards based on the 32-bit i.MX6 series are added: The MYiR MYS-6ULX single-board computer, and four different models of industrial computers from Protonic. - Qualcomm: MikroTik RouterBoard 3011 is a rackmounted router based on the 32-bit IPQ8064 networking SoC Three older phones get added, the Snapdragon 808 (msm8992) based Xiaomi Libra (Mi 4C) and Microsoft Lumia 950, originally running Windows Phone, and the Snapdragon 810 (msm8994) based Sony Xperia Z5. - Renesas: In addition to the HiHope RZ/G2H board mentioned above, we gain support for board versions 3.0 and 4.0 of the earlier RZ/G2M and RZ/G2N reference boards. Beacon EmbeddedWorks adds another SoM+Carrier development board for RZ/G2M. - Rockchips: Radxa Rock Pi N8 development board and the VMARC RK3288 SoM it is based on, using the high-end 32-bit rk3288 SoC. Rationale: Reduces attack surface on kernel devs opening the links for MITM as HTTPS traffic is much harder to manipulate. Deterministic algorithm: For each file: If not .svg: For each line: If doesn't contain `\bxmlns\b`: For each link, `\bhttp://[^# \t\r\n]*(?:\w|/)`: If neither `\bgnu\.org/license`, nor `\bmozilla\.org/MPL\b`: If both the HTTP and HTTPS versions return 200 OK and serve the same content: Replace HTTP with HTTPS. 2020-07-13ARM: dts: omap4: Add IPU DT nodeSuman Anna
The DT node for the Dual-Cortex M3 IPU processor sub-system has been added for OMAP4 SoCs. The L2RAM memory region information has been added to the node through the 'reg' and 'reg-names' properties. The node has the 'iommus', 'clocks', 'resets', 'mboxes' and 'firmware' properties also added, and is disabled for now. It should be enabled as per the individual product configuration in the corresponding board dts files. Signed-off-by: Suman Anna <s-anna@ti.com> Signed-off-by: Tony Lindgren <tony@atomide.com>
2020-07-13ARM: dts: omap4: Update the DSP nodeSuman Anna
The compatible property for the DSP node is updated to match the OMAP remoteproc bindings. The node is moved from the soc node to the ocp node to better reflect the connectivity from MPU side. The node is updated with the 'ti,bootreg', 'clocks', 'resets', 'iommus', 'mboxes' and 'firmware' properties. Note that the node does not have any 'reg' or 'reg-names' properties since it doesn't have any L2 RAM memory, but only Unicaches. The node is disabled for now, and should be enabled as per the individual product configuration in the corresponding board dts files. 2020-05-19ARM: dts: Configure system timers for omap4Tony Lindgren
We can now init system timers using the dmtimer and 32k counter based on only devicetree data and drivers/clocksource timers. Let's configure the clocksource and clockevent, and drop the old unused platform data. As we're just dropping platform data, and the early platform data init is based on the custom ti,hwmods property, we want to drop both the platform data and ti,hwmods property in a single patch. Since the dmtimer can use both 32k clock and system clock as the source, let's also configure the SoC specific default values. The board specific dts files can reconfigure these with assigned-clocks and assigned-clock-parents as needed. We can now probe devices with device tree only configuration using ti-sysc interconnect target module driver. Let's configure the module, but keep the legacy "ti,hwmods" peroperty until the child devices are probing with ti-sysc interconnect driver. The display subsystem (DSS) is in a 16MB interconnect target module mapped to l4 and l3 buses. We are only using the l3 port as recommended by the TRM. So there is no need to configure l4 ranges like we've done for l4 ABE instance for example. Initially let's just update the top level dss node to probe with ti-sysc interconnect target module driver. The child nodes are still children of dispc, only the node indentation changes for them now along with using the reg range provided by top level dss. Let's also add add a note about using only the l3 access without l4 as noted in the TRM. Looks like we've had the sgx sysconfig register and revision register always wrong for omap4, including the old platform data. Let's fix the offsets to what the TRM says. Otherwise the sgx module may never idle depending on the state of the real sysconfig register. Fixes: d23a163ebe5a ("ARM: dts: Add nodes for missing omap4 interconnect target modules") Cc: H. 2019-04-09ARM: dts: Add l4 abe interconnect hierarchy and ti-sysc data for omap4Tony Lindgren
We can now add l4 abe interconnect hierarchy and ti-sysc data with ti-sysc driver supporting external optional clocks needed by mcpdm. This data is generated based on platform data from a booted system and the interconnect acces protection registers for ranges. To avoid regressions, we initially validate the device tree provided data against the existing platform data on boot. Note that mcpdm we now need to enable at module level only for devices that have the external pdmclk wired from the PMIC as the clock is needed for the module to be accessible. 2018-07-20ARM: dts: omap4: Move l4 child devices to probe them with ti-syscTony Lindgren
With l4 interconnect hierarchy and ti-sysc interconnect target module data in place, we can simply move all the related child devices to their proper location and enable probing using ti-sysc. In general the first child device address range starts at range 0 from the ti-sysc interconnect target so the move involves adjusting the child device reg properties for that. And we cannot yet move mmu_dsp until we have a proper reset controller driver for rstctrl registers. In case of any regressions, problem devices can be reverted to probe with legacy platform data as needed by moving them back and removing the related interconnect target module node. Before updating wdt2 to probe with ti-sysc we want to have wdt3 probed with ti-sysc to avoid having them unnecessarily swap order. With ti-sysc, we probe child devices at module_init time while and until l4 abe interconnect is converted to use ti-sysc, wdt3 will probe earlier with legacy platform data. ssh://gitolite.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/tmlind/linux-omap into next/dt Pull "Few omap interconnect dts fixes for v4.16 merge window" from Tony Lindgren: Now that we have the dts clocks for the clkctrl clock and the interconnect binding, we need to update the existing ti-sysc users according to the binding to make it usable for drivers. Apologies for not being able to send this earlier but it took me few revisions to get the smartreflex changes right and tested with yet to be posted patches to make smartreflex probe with dts and I wanted to have it sit in next for a while to make sure we're not introducing regressions for legacy platform data based booting. Note that this is based on a merge with commit 20a2742e5784 ("dt-bindings: ti-sysc: Update binding for timers and capabilities") to avoid a merge conflict with the binding changes. * tag 'omap-for-v4.16/dt-clk-dts-signed' of ssh://gitolite.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/tmlind/linux-omap: ARM: dts: Update ti-sysc data for existing users ARM: dts: Fix smartreflex compatible for omap3 shared mpu-iva instance dt-bindings: ti-sysc: Update binding for timers and capabilities
2018-01-12ARM: dts: Update ti-sysc data for existing usersTony Lindgren
Let's update the existing users with features and clock data as specified in the binding. This is currently the smartreflex for most part, and also few omap4 modules with no child device driver like mcasp, abe iss and gfx. Note that we had few mistakes that did not get noticed as we're still probing the SmartReflex driver with legacy platform data and using "ti,hwmods" legacy property for ti-sysc driver. So let's fix the omap4 and dra7 smartreflex registers as there is no no revision register. And on omap4, the mcasp module has a revision register according to the TRM. And for omap34xx we need a different configuration compared to 36xx. And the smartreflex on 3517 we've always kept disabled so let's remove any references to it.
